Fisher Island Club recently debuted US$60 million in renovations to its facilities.
Located off the tip of Miami Beach in Florida, the 216-acre (87-hectare) property was once the winter retreat of William K. Vanderbilt II and his wife, Rosamund. The resort’s 15 refurbished guest rooms feature dark wood plank flooring, new upholstery with a light gold and blue-green palette, and patios with private whirlpools.

Updated amenities include a golf clubhouse, a tennis center with 18 courts, a full-service beauty salon, a 24,000-sq-ft (7315-sq-m) spa and fitness center, beach club, private yacht marinas, and an island market.
The final phase of the renovation covers the estate’s Vanderbilt Mansion, led by architect Richard Heisenbottle and interior design firm Hirsch Bedner & Associates. Much of the millwork has been restored; plans also include upgraded outdoor decking for the City View Cafe, restoration of the Vanderbilt Pool, and transforming the original bedrooms into a lounge area and private dining overlooking the ocean.
