Waldorf Astoria Costa Rica Punta Cacique has opened on the Punta Cacique peninsula, expanding Hilton’s luxury portfolio in the Caribbean and Latin America. Located along Playa Penca, the 188-room resort offers views of Costa Rica’s Northern Pacific Coast and features six dining experiences, with amenities and services that include a multi-level pool, kids and teens clubs, a 17,000-square-foot spa and fitness center and a 10,000-square-feet of meeting space.

Located 25 minutes from Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport the resort is the first property to open in the Punta Cacique community. Its architecture is terraced within the natural landscape. The design offers views of Culebra Bay Coco Bay and Pacific sunsets.
The landscape design uses native plants. Sordo Madaleno Arquitectos of Mexico City designed the indoor and outdoor spaces to integrate with the site. The resort has received the Costa Rican “Bandera Azul Ecológica” award for Playa Penca.
Guests arrive at a reception area with views of Playa Penca. Pathways lead to guestrooms and Poblado, a public area with dining venues and a Waldorf Astoria Clock. The area includes pools and waterfalls leading to the Beach Lounge and Sunset Rooftop.
The property includes 148 guest rooms and 40 suites with views of the landscape. The design features earthy tones. Terraces and balconies are included. Forty suites have private plunge pools.

The resort’s six dining experiences focus on local ingredients. La Finca the signature restaurant offers seafood and beef. Tico-Tica provides all-day dining with an open kitchen. The Peacock Alley Bar serves small plates and cocktails. Buena Nota Bakery & Coffee Shop offers coffee and treats. Copo y Cono Ice Cream Shop features local flavors. Vida Pool & Grill offers Latin-inspired dishes.
The Spa at Waldorf Astoria Costa Rica Punta Cacique includes 11 treatment rooms, lounges, saunas, steam rooms and a jacuzzi. Treatments use local ingredients like volcanic clay and cacao.
The spa offers treatments such as Chorotegan Cacao Healing and Mariola Body Experience. The resort also has a fitness center a fitness pool and offers yoga and meditation. A salon and Wedding Lounge are available.
The resort offers experiences, such as a tour to the Brunca region coffee plantations and chocolate sculpting. The Guanacaste region features volcanoes hot springs and waterfalls. Water activities and excursions are available. Kids Club and Teens Club are provided.
The property includes 10,000 square feet of meeting and event space overlooking Playa Penca. The spaces include ballrooms and an event lawn. A ceremonial pavilion and terrace are available for events. The resort can accommodate up to 382 attendees.
