HONG KONG The Upper House is integrating the Apple iPad at guest check-in and in all guestrooms, touting the trendy technology as a green initiative.
The Swire Hotels property uses iPads as a paperless guest registration service. The tablet computers also are enhancing guest experience with use by concierges, guest relations associates, bellmen and cashiering at locations throughout the hotel.
Additionally, iPads are available for guests to use during their stays, and the hotel has iPod Touches in each of its 117 guestrooms and suites, offering a comprehensive source of house information, roomservice, games, music, local area information, weather, news and feedback forms at the touch of a screen, replacing printed hotel directories.
“Swire Hotels has given great consideration to the preferences of our guests and the effect our practices have on the environment,” says General Manager Dean Winter. “The Upper House is able to streamline guest arrival and departure experiences, offer vital connectivity both in and out of the house and keep guests up to date with the latest hotel and destinations news on the in-room iPod Touch, eliminating the need for unnecessary paper waste and carbon emissions.”
