The Hoxton, Florence opens in Italy joining Rome property

The Hoxton, Florence has opened in the historic center of the city, marking the brand’s second hotel in Italy after The Hoxton, Rome. The hotel has 161 rooms across two buildings: a 16th-century renaissance palazzo with its original facade and an arcade, and a 1980s building designed by Andrea Branzi with a timber-slatted facade and linear architecture.

The hotel includes Alassio, an Italian restaurant, and Enoteca Violetta, a wine bar. There is also a courtyard, event spaces, and a new room category called House, a three-bedroom apartment with a private entrance and living space. The location is near landmarks such as the Duomo, Uffizi Gallery, and Fortezza da Basso.

Aime Studios led the design and renovation, preserving original renaissance features like an outdoor arcade, frescoes from 1611, and lime-washed walls. The two buildings contrast in style, with one reflecting historical design and the other modern influences. Interiors feature Italian craftsmanship, vintage pieces, and a mix of colors and patterns.

Rooms in the main building reference classical Florentine architecture and mid-century Italian design. Some rooms have views of the Duomo, terraces with outdoor bathtubs, or two levels with a spiral staircase. The color palette is inspired by the marble of the Duomo. The Branzi building, designed by Andrea Branzi, has rooms with bold colors, mixed prints, and materials reflecting the architect’s connection to the Memphis Group.

House is a three-bedroom, four-bathroom apartment with a kitchen, dining area, lounge, outdoor terrace, and private entrance. Guests have access to a house manager for assistance with arrangements such as private dining and event tickets.

Alassio serves Mediterranean-inspired dishes. The menu includes breakfast items like necci chestnut pancakes and avocado schiacciata, as well as larger plates like girella ravioli with red mullet and focaccia Alassio with grilled zucchini and tuna tartare. The bar offers coffee, fresh juices, and cocktails such as the capperi martini and Mediterranean negroni. The interior includes vaulted ceilings, Italian artwork, and Murano chandeliers. A courtyard provides outdoor dining space.

Enoteca Violetta is a wine bar offering local and international wines, including selections from Champagne Larmandier Bernier, Pascal Cotat, and Emidio Pepe. The menu includes Italian snacks such as panisse frites, rice suppli marinara, and crispy potato mille-feuille, along with cheeses and cured meats. Aperitivo hour starts at 5 p.m. The space features a six-meter bar, original artwork, and floor-to-ceiling wine cabinets. The basement houses La Riserva, a private dining space for tastings and masterclasses.

The Hoxton, Florence partners with local businesses. Hox Gallery in the lobby showcases emerging artists, curated by Numeroventi. The Best Of shop offers locally designed items, and a pop-up shop sells apparel and candles. Pet amenities include beds from Vanity Pet, bowls from Muso Nero, and treats from Hygge Dog.

Guests can use complimentary Sergio Bianchi bikes and receive discounts at Yoga Garage and Anytime Fitness. Weekly runs with Runners of Florence start at the hotel and include breakfast and fruit after the run.

Two event spaces are available: La Riserva, a wine cellar with a feature bar, and a rooftop terrace with a bar and city views. The courtyard is also available for private events. The Good Rate program offers a discount for guests traveling by rail between Hoxton hotels.
