Don Lee Farms supports food box program
Don Lee Farms said it is supplying more than 1 million servings a day, via USDA’s new Farmers To Families Food Box Program, to hunger relief organizations and school districts throughout Southern California. The initiative takes food that would otherwise not have a market due to disruption from the pandemic and distributes it to families that need it. The boxes are packed with 20 pounds of protein that ranges from grilled chicken patties and breakfast pork sausage patties to shredded mozzarella cheese.

The most recent donations support food banks in Georgia, northern Illinois, South Carolina, North Carolina, southeastern Virginia and Maryland. Perdue is also directing product donations to frontline healthcare workers and first responders, and has hosted more than 15 virtual town hall-style webinars to facilitate dialogue about COVID-19.
