Sonder grows footprint in EMEA, adds five properties in Europe

Sonder Holdings has expanded its presence in Europe and has added five new properties to its EMEA portfolio. The new properties are located in France, Italy and Spain.

These properties join Sonder’s existing 54-hotel portfolio across the EMEA region.

Sonder is keen on exploring more growth opportunities in EMEA, including hotel and aparthotel takeovers, office conversions and ground-up developments, said Lia Prendergast, managing director of real estate – EMEA, Sonder.

“Sonder partners with property owners to lease, manage and operate a variety of asset types in prime locations. As an experienced global operator of hotels, resorts, and serviced apartment properties, ranging in size from boutique to 350+ key, we drive value for owners with our efficient operating model, unique revenue management and marketing capabilities, and brand, which is loved by the next generation of travelers,” Prendergast said.

These five newly added properties comprise both new and renovated historic buildings across key leisure and business destinations in the region, Sonder said.

Quintinie opened this June in Paris.

FRANCE

This June, Sonder opened Quintinie in Paris, which became Sonder’s fourth live hotel in the city. Located in the 15th Arrondissement, the hotel joins Sonder’s existing hotels: Atala Champs-Elysees, L’Edmond and Le Frochot.

Yelo Promenade, located in Nice, will join Sonder. The hotel also opened in June. Located close to the beach and Promenade des Anglais, the hotel features rooms with private balconies offering views of the sea. The hotel joins Sonder’s existing Yelo Jean Medecin in Nice.

ITALY

Sonder has opened Atelier, a serviced apartment property for short-term accommodations, in Milan. Situated in the Porta Romana district, the property includes a courtyard garden, a fitness center and private parking.

Atelier already has the Missori Hotel in Milan’s city center.

Sonder added Antinoo in Rome. The recently-renovated hotel offers rooms and serviced apartments that can accommodate up to eight guests for short-term stays. Besides offering a rooftop terrace, some units have private outdoor areas.

Antinoo joins Sonder’s other properties in Rome, including Piazza di Spagna and Barberini.

SPAIN

Sonder opened Los Arcos in Barcelona. Located in the Gothic Quarter, just off Las Ramblas and close to the Cathedral of Barcelona, the hotel consists of both hotel rooms and extended-stay serviced apartments.

The hotel joins Sonder’s six other properties in Barcelona, which include the DO Placa Reial.
