Social media, multilingual content star on new Fairmont jobs site

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, Toronto, has officially launched its new-look careers website.

Site users wishing can now enjoy greater options enabled by the brand’s new Talent Acquisition System, which has already launched in more than 45 Fairmont hotels and will be fully implemented across the brand this summer. The system provides a more advanced job searching widget, allows prospective colleagues to be electronically notified when new positions and vacancies are posted, and facilitates resume uploading to Fairmont’s global database.

The site now houses online content in multiple languages including English, French, Spanish, German, Arabic and Mandarin, with plans to add additional dialects in future.

Among a variety of new media features are videos of Fairmont colleagues speaking about their career experiences, the Fairmont culture and the brand’s service promise. Links to Fairmont’s dedicated careers Facebook profile and Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube pages also populate the new site, while information on the brand’s environmental program is prominently featured on its homepage.

Many areas of the site also have been expanded to include more comprehensive information on Fairmont’s Leadership Development Program, internships and apprenticeships, Student Work Experience Program and career development.

“With the majority of applicants now using the web to research companies, post resumes and apply for openings, it’s imperative to have a strong online employment presence — and I think our new site more than delivers,” says Carolyn Clark, Fairmont’s senior vice president, human resources.
