SLS Brickell Hotel, located in Miami’s Brickell submarket, has new owners. The 124-room hotel, which is part of a mixed-use tower, sold for $53.5 million.
The Kastrati Group acquired the luxury and lifestyle hotel from Constellation Hotels Holdings, the investment vehicle of a Qatari family group, and was represented by Jordan Karp and Disruptive Real Estate.
JLL’s Hotels & Hospitality Group arranged the sale of the hotel for the second time, JLL said in a statement. The hotel last traded in 2019 for $43 million.
The sale of the hotel did not include the adjacent restaurant space, which was earlier known as Bazaar Mar by Jose Andres. JLL sold this space in a deal to Black Lion Investment Group, reportedly for $10 million, earlier this year. The space is expected to open with a new restaurant concept.
Developed by the Related Group, SLS Brickell Hotel was designed by Philippe Starck and Arquitectonica. Opened in 2016, the hotel is situated within the mixed-use project, SLS Tower. The property consists of an upscale three-meal restaurant, rooftop pool and spa and nearly 58,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space.
The hotel occupies the first nine floors of the 54-story mixed-use tower, with common areas and 453 residential condominiums above. SLS Tower is surrounded by several high-rise condominiums, retail and dining venues and Class A office buildings.
JLL’s Managing Director Andrew Dickey and Senior Vice President Maciej Polek led the team on the transaction. The seller was represented by Latham & Watkins in the disposition, overseen by Michelle Kelban, global co-chair of the company’s Real Estate Practice, and Aaron Friberg, counsel in the firm’s San Diego office.
“This asset was highly sought after with several bidders, which reflects the quality of the asset, its improving location within Brickell, and the long-term view of Miami’s growth,” Dickey said.
