VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA Ski resorts owner-operator Intrawest ULC plans to relocate its corporate headquarters from Vancouver to Denver later this year.
Intrawest, which owns the Steamboat ski area and operates the Winter Park ski area, has recently reduced its ownership in the iconic British Columbia ski area Whistler-Blackcomb and has sold several resorts and development projects in recent years.
“The relocation consolidates the strategic, corporate and financial functions in one location and brings senior management closer to Intrawest’s core business assets,” the company says in a statement. Intrawest has not announced how many of its Vancouver-based employees would be making the move to Colorado.
Intrawest CEO Bill Jensen is a former chief operating officer for Colorado-based Vail Resorts.
Intrawest ranks 184th on the 2010 edition of HOTELS’ 325, the annual ranking of the world’s largest hotel management and franchise companies.
