Sheraton Phoenix Downtown has appointed Daryl Rhead as its new general manager. Rhead brings with him extensive expertise in franchise services, international asset management, finance, hotel operations and strategic transactions to his new role.
Rhead began his career with Marriott International in 2004 in San Francisco. Over the past two decades, he has held leadership roles across finance and operations, including vice president – global asset management and area director of finance for the Americas East Region and senior finance positions at landmark properties such as Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center, JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn Resort & Spa and San Francisco Airport Marriott Waterfront.
Most recently, Rhead served as vice president — owner franchise services, where he drove strong engagement with franchisees to enhance the guest experience and advance key initiatives as leader of the operations and business support teams. He has also contributed to the industry as an adjunct professor at The George Washington University Graduate School of Business and the University of Maryland, teaching advanced courses in finance and hotel operations.
