Shangri-La Group has signed an agreement with United Bodrum Turizm A.Ş. to manage a new luxury resort in Bodrum, Turkey. The signing marks the group’s second property in the country and expands its presence in the Mediterranean leisure market.
The planned Shangri-La Bodrum will be located on the northwest end of the Bodrum peninsula in Yalikavak. The site is approximately ten minutes from Yalıkavak Marina and adjacent to The One Bodrum development. Expected to open in the first half of 2029, the resort will include 70 guest rooms and 10 private villas, along with a private beach and views of the Aegean Sea and surrounding coastline.
The signing ceremony was held at Island Shangri-La in Hong Kong. Attendees included Ms. Hui Kuok, chairman and group chief executive officer of Shangri-La Group, along with Chee Wui Chua, executive director and chief finance officer, and Chris Phong, group head of investment and asset management. United Bodrum Turizm A.Ş. was represented by Güngör Çepni, chairman, Kamil Uğurlu, partner and Ferzan Çelikkanat, owner representative.

“Bodrum’s spectacular natural setting, international appeal, and rising recognition as a global luxury hub make it an exceptional addition to our portfolio,” said Wui Chua. “We are delighted to bring Shangri-La’s timeless hospitality and contemporary sophistication to this remarkable corner of the world.”
The development follows Shangri-La Group’s existing operation in Turkey, Shangri-La Bosphorus, Istanbul. The Bodrum resort is intended to extend the group’s portfolio of leisure properties in Europe and the Middle East, aligning with its broader strategy to grow its footprint in established resort destinations.
Bodrum has developed into an international tourism destination with a focus on leisure travel. The area is known for marinas, coastal settings and year-round hospitality activity.
“We are proud to collaborate with Shangri-La Group on a project that will redefine luxury hospitality in Bodrum,” said Güngör Çepni, chairman of United Bodrum Turizm A.Ş. “This resort will set a new benchmark for refined living and elevate Bodrum’s global standing as a destination of distinction.”
