Hilton pushes LXR brand into Greece

Hilton and RMKA Private Company announced the signing of Sandblu Santorini, introducing LXR Hotels & Resorts to Greece. The property is scheduled to open for the 2026 summer season in Kamari at the foothills of Ancient Thira. The development joins what the companies describe as a collection of independent and spirited properties aligned with the brand’s focus on personal exploration.

The project adds to a period of growth for LXR Hotels & Resorts as it approaches nearly 40 properties operating or under development. The announcement follows its debut of SAX Paris and precedes additional locations planned for Europe. Sandblu Santorini is positioned on the eastern coast of the island on elevated terrain overlooking the Aegean Sea and the black sand beach of Kamari. The layout draws from a traditional Cycladic village with stone exteriors and whitewashed facades.

The retreat will feature 66 rooms, suites and villas. According to the plans, every accommodation will include a private terrace with views of either the pool or the sea. The property states that nearly one-third of the accommodations will include private pools. Three villas will be available for guests seeking additional seclusion. The beach area connected to the resort will provide access to the shoreline.

Facilities are set to include two infinity pools, a spa with sauna and indoor pool, a two-storey fitness studio and a yoga garden. Dining spaces will include a signature restaurant and an all-day venue created by Rockwell Group. A wine bar, a wine cellar and a bakery will also be available. The plans note a kids club and retail boutiques as part of the offering.

“Sandblu captures the ethereal spirit of Santorini in a way that is both understated and deeply refined. LXR is defined by properties with a strong sense of character, and this resort brings a fresh, contemporary expression to a spectacular location. We are proud to introduce a new level of craftsmanship and design to the island, creating a setting that feels timeless, authentic, and truly of its place,” said Feisal Jaffer, global head, LXR Hotels & Resorts.

“We are honored to collaborate with Hilton to bring the first LXR Hotels & Resorts brand property to Greece. Our vision is to create a resort that captures the authentic soul of Santorini, inviting guests into a rare and enriching connection with one of the world’s most breathtaking destinations, elevated through refined amenities and thoughtfully attentive service. We cannot wait to begin the transformation in the months ahead and look forward to welcoming guests to our resort in summer 2026,” said Leonidas Anagnostou, general manager, Sandblu.

Sandblu Santorini will offer access to hiking routes that lead to Ancient Thira and proximity to Kamari Beach. The site is also located within a short drive from Santorini International Airport and the port, providing links to European destinations and the Cycladic islands.
