Salamander Collection’s Aspen Meadows Resort appoints new GM

Salamander Collection has appointed Carrie Williams as the new general manager of Aspen Meadows Resort, effective June 14.

Williams currently serves as managing director of operations and facilities for the Aspen Institute, which owns Aspen Meadows. Since 2020, she has assisted in driving capital projects for the resort, leading sustainability and key housing initiatives as well as completing a variety of renovation projects.

“Aspen Meadows holds a truly special place in my heart. I’m honored to step into this new role and am excited to work closely with the resort’s talented leaders,” said Williams. “Having spent years collaborating closely with the property, I’ve come to deeply appreciate its rich heritage, stunning Bauhaus-inspired design and the vital role it plays in our community. I look forward to building on that legacy by creating memorable experiences for our guests that reflect the spirit of Aspen—thoughtful, inspiring and deeply connected to nature.”

Managed by Salamander Collection, which was founded by Sheila Johnson, the 98-suite resort boasts 40 acres and recently completed a comprehensive renovation of the guest accommodations and reception and opened its new restaurant, West End Social.

Carrie is a strategic, customer-focused leader who is known for motivating others and getting results.”

Before joining the Aspen Institute in 2020, Williams was director of operations at The Limelight Hotel in Aspen and held various leadership roles at The Little Nell.
