Rocco Forte Hotels announces Middle East flagship in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI The 281-key Rocco Forte Hotel Abu Dhabi will serve as the UK firm’s flagship property in the Middle East, the company says. It will also be the first property to bear the Rocco Forte name.

The hotel, which will include Abu Dhabi’s largest spa and three restaurants, is slated to open in the city’s commercial district late this year. It is owned by Al Farida Investments Co. LLC. Featuring a 10-story wave-shaped tower with a blue and green glass façade, the property will be surrounded by public gardens and an adjacent high-end shopping galleria.

“For more than a decade, Middle Eastern executives and leisure travelers alike have come to make up a significant proportion of guests visiting our 13 existing properties in Europe. Therefore, in response to existing client demand, we believe the Rocco Forte Hotel Abu Dhabi will be a compelling destination for such guests, in addition to catering to a wide range of travel, leisure and event needs,” says Rocco Forte Hotels Chairman and CEO Rocco Forte. “Abu Dhabi is fast emerging as a hub for the Middle East, and we are confident that our flagship hotel in the emirate will set the tone for our planned expansion in the Middle East, serving the needs of travelers to the UAE and residents while creating anticipation for our other properties set to open in the region.”

The Rocco Forte Hotel Abu Dhabi marks the Rocco Forte Hotels’ first foray into the Middle East and will be followed by a 146-key property opening in Jeddah in 2013, an all-suite golf resort in Marrakech in 2014, a 275-key property in Cairo in 2014 and an 82-key property in Luxor in 2014.
