GOTHENBURG, SWEDEDN The Rezidor Hotel Group and Winn Hotel Group announce the 266-key Radisson Blu Riverside Hotel Gothenburg, slated to open in early 2013.
Radisson Blu Riverside will be situated by Lindholmen Science Park just outside the city center and directly adjacent to the Gothia River. Lindholmen Science Park is one of the fastest developing business areas in Sweden, where more than 18,000 people work and study. “There is a great need for a hotel, and the Radisson Blu Riverside Hotel Gothenburg, a fantastic asset, is much awaited” says Anders Junger, president and CEO of Winn.
Winn also operates Rezidor’s Park Inn Solna, Park Inn Uppsala, the future Radisson Blu Uppsala and the recently signed Park Inn hotels in Lund and Helsingborg under franchise agreements. Radisson Blu Riverside Hotel Gothenburg will be developed and owned by Skanska, one of the world’s largest construction companies.
For Rezidor, the signing brings its Nordics portfolio to 65 hotels with 15,000 guestrooms in operation and under development, including 4,000 in Sweden, says President and CEO Kurt Ritter.
It will be the second Radisson Blu property in Sweden’s second largest city, joining the 349-room Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel Gothenburg.
