People on the move: Weekapaug Inn, Radisson, The Langham

Weekapaug Inn, Westerly, Rhode Island, has announced the appointment of Conny Andersson as the general manager and Andrew Brooks as the executive chef.

Andersson has over 40 years of hospitality and culinary experience, having held positions throughout Asia, including Vietnam, Malaysia and Bhutan. He was most recently general manager of Six Senses Kaplankaya, Turkey, where he oversaw a 141-room resort, five restaurants and the largest spa facility in Europe.

Brooks was formerly a member of the Weekapaug Inn culinary staff. He has come back after working for seven years in restaurants and resorts in Rhode Island and Florida. Most recently he was executive sous chef at sister property, Ocean House.

Sheraton Grand Chicago, Chicago, Illinois announced the appointment of Jordan Bakovic to director of sales and marketing. Bakovic joins from Marriott International, where she most recently served as director of sales and marketing for Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel.

Christophe Baraton has been announced as general manager of Shutters on the Beach, Santa Monica, California. He previously spent four years as the general manager of Waldorf Astoria’s Boca Raton Beach Club in Florida.

Dimension Development Company has appointed Matthew Chiz as catering sales manager, and Michelle Relecker as group sales manager at Hyatt Regency Westlake, Westlake Village, California. Dimension has also appointed Kaila Collins as corporate catering sales manager and Allison Friedman as social catering sales manager Hyatt Regency Westlake. Chiz most recently held sales roles with Grill Concepts, Las Vegas, Nevada, and U.S.-based Patina Restaurant Group. Relecker was most recently group sales manager at the Crowne Plaza Ventura Beach Hotel, Ventura, California. Collins was most recently at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Mandalay Beach Resort, Oxnard, California. Friedman was most recently with Sherwood County Club in Westlake Village.

Holston House, Nashville, Tennesse, announced Jeff Gillick as director of sales & marketing and Colby Mitchell as director of food & beverage. Previously, Gillick served as the director of sales and marketing for the Bobby Hotel Nashville. Mitchell previously worked around the world with international brands, including Mandarin Oriental, Shangri-La and Marriott at properties in Dubai, the Philippines and China.

The Delta Hotels by Marriott Chicago Willowbrook and Willby’s Restaurant & Bar, Willowbrook, Illinois, announced Howard Gottlieb as the new general manager and Nathan Karsten as the director of sales and marketing. Gottlieb previously worked at the Courtyard by Marriott Chicago-Glenview, Illinois. Karsten was most recently at the Chicago Oak Brook Hills Resort & Conference Center in Illinois.

R.A. Rauch & Associates, San Diego, California, announce the appointment of Niveesha Hill as the dual property general manager of Homewood Suites by Hilton San Diego-Del Mar and Hilton Garden Inn San Diego-Del Mar. Hill was most recently general manager for an independent property, Carlsbad by the Sea Hotel, in the Carlsbad Beach area of San Diego and the Hyatt Place in Bloomington/Normal, Illinois.

McKibbon Hospitality, Tampa, Florida, announced the appointment of Ursula Howard as director of sales for Hilton Garden Inn Jacksonville Ponte Vedra Sawgrass, Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. Howard most recently served as director of catering for the Jacksonville Marriott, Jacksonville, Florida.

Aaron Ide has been announced as the general manager of the first Thompson Hotel in Dallas, Texas. Ide previously worked at various Four Seasons locations throughout the U.S.

The Boca Raton, Boca Raton, Florida, announced its C-Suite management team: Erica Kasel as chief marketing officer; Emily Snyder as chief sales officer; and Maria Burns-Aladro as chief human resources officer. Kasel’s previous role was at Paris-based Chanel, as heading of marketing and digital for the U.S. Snyder was most recently with Hong Kong-based Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group. Burns-Aladro’s most recent position was as director of human resources at The Boca Raton.

Four Seasons Hotel One Dalton Street, Boston, Massachusetts, announced Lana Labrecque as the new spa manager for The Wellness Floor at One Dalton. She was previously spa director at New England-based Bella Santé Spas.

Mauna Kea Resort, Kohala Coast, Hawaii, announce new food & beverage hires. Keith Mallini is the new assistant resort director of food & beverage. He previously worked as the general manager at Manta, Mauna Kea Beach Hotel’s signature dining experience. Michael Moorhouse is the new executive pastry chef. Moorhouse’s experience includes time at The Greenhouse in London, United Kingdom. Demitrius Fexyn is the new Manta Restaurant general manager. He has experience in both front and back of house positions in some of New York City’s restaurants, including Morrel Wine Bar in Rockefeller Plaza, New York, NY. Shaun Sweeney is the new Copper Bar general manager. Sweeney has previous experience bartending at Copper, Mauna Kea Beach Hotel’s bar-restaurant.

AC Hotel Fort Worth Downtown, Fort Worth, Texas, announced Javier Maysonet as executive chef of the hotel’s culinary operations. Before joining, Maysonet worked as the executive sous chef for Dallas/Addison Marriott Quorum by the Galleria, Dallas, Texas.

AHC Hospitality, Grand Rapids, Michigan, has announced six promotions and a new hire. Caitlin McClelland is the new spa director for AHC Hospitality. She has been promoted from spa manager. Ryan Schmied is the new director of food & beverage experiences for AHC Hospitality. He has been promoted from general manager. Ethan Hansen is the new hotel manager at Morton Hotel, Grand Rapids. He has been promoted from hotel supervisor. Lindsay Hovingh is the new director of rooms at Amway Grand Plaza, Curio Collection by Hilton, Grand Rapids. She was previously the general manager of the Hyatt Place Grand Rapids/Downtown, Grand Rapids. Melissa Stanley is the new general manager at AC Hotel Grand Rapids. She was previously assistant general manager. Jeffrey Burns is the new assistant general manager at Hyatt Place Grand Rapids/Downtown. The new hire is Stephanie Cutler. She is the general manager of Hyatt Place Grand Rapids/Downtown. She was previously general manager of the Hampton Inn and Suites Grand Rapids.

Several new hires have been announced at Hawaii Island’s Mauna Kea Resort. Ka’upena Mirandais is the new beach experience manager. He has previously worked at sharing his culture and knowledge with guests on his boat. Brent Imonenn is the new beach & wellness manager. Imonen has been previously involved in events like Duke’s OceanFest, the Great Aloha Run, Kona Marathon and Kahala Challenge. Brandee Konauni-McDaniel is the new activities assistant manager. Konauni-McDaniel is currently studying for her Bachelor’s in Communication with a minor in business and history. Greg Silva is the new guest services manager. Silva rejoins the Mauna Kea Resort team as the guest services manager, having previously worked at the resort. Scott Meikle is the new director of golf maintenance. Kimo was previously the golf course superintendent at the Waikoloa Beach King’s Resort, Hawaii, and the Four Seasons Hualalai Resort, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii.

Global travel network Virtuoso, New York City,  announced that Úna O’Leary has joined the organization as general manager, Canada. O’Leary previously worked at CWT, a Virtuoso member agency, as senior director of marketing & strategic partnerships, North America.

Benchmark, The Woodlands, Texas, announced Shantesh Patil has been appointed as home office controller. Patil was most recently corporate controller for Avalon Hotel Group, Gonzales, Louisiana.

Radisson Hotel Group, Minnetonka, Minnesota, has announced the appointment of Evelyn Wong Soo Pin as vice president, finance, tax and IT, Asia Pacific. She joins Radisson Hotel Group from Singapore-based AMOS Group, where she held the role of chief financial officer.

Shaun Rajah has been appointed as director of social catering at The Langham, Chicago, Illinois. Rajah was previously associate director of catering The Drake’s Palm Court, Chicago.

Mandarin Oriental, New York City, announced the appointment of Toni Robertson as F&B director and executive chef. Robertson previously worked at Mandarin Oriental, Singapore, as executive chef.

The Slate, Thailand, Phuket, has announced the appointment of Claude Sauter as general manager. Most recently, he was GM of The Surin Phuket for over six years.

Four Seasons Resort and Residences Anguilla has named Nicole Lingos Spillane as director of sales & marketing. Spillane joins from Four Seasons Hotel New York, where she has been the director of marketing since 2018.

Commonwealth Hotels, Covington, Kentucky, announced Cristian Teusan and Nicole Coghlan have been appointed area directors of operations. Teusan most recently served as the general manager at the Embassy Suites Akron Canton, North Canton, Ohio. Coghlan previously served as the dual general manager of the Hilton Garden Inn Hoffman Estates and Schaumburg in Illinois.

Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas at Las Colinas has appointed Nicholas Trosien as the new executive sous chef. He most recently worked at Lone Star State at Texas’ original urban resort.
