Marriott International appointed Frank Beck managing director for The St. Regis Langkawi, The Westin Langkawi Resort & Spa, and Langkawi International Convention Centre, cluster properties in Langkawi, Malaysia.
Beck has more than 30 years’ experience with Marriott International, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide and ITT Sheraton Corporation, and has held senior management positions in Europe, the Middle East and Asia, including eight years working in Indonesia. He was a key player in the 2008 opening of the brand’s first resort in Asia – The St. Regis Bali Resort in Bali, Indonesia. He was promoted to managing director of The St. Regis Bali Resort and The Laguna Resort & Spa, Bali, a role he undertook to reposition The Laguna, A Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, to upper-scale luxury, while securing several awards for both properties in the process. Beck was managing director of The St. Regis Singapore from 2012 to 2015.

Monarch Beach Resort in Dana Point, California, named Jason Adams executive chef and Kimberly Leary director of incentive and Midwest sales. Adams and Leary both came from Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California, where Adams was executive chef and Leary was national sales manager.
Tyler Alden is wine director and restaurant outlets manager for Willows Lodge in Woodinville, Washington, and its signature restaurant, Barking Frog. An advanced sommelier and certified cicerone, Alden had been assistant wine director for Purple Café and Wine Bar in Seattle.
Michael Bergin is director of sales, events and marketing at Park Hyatt Beaver Creek in Beaver Creek, Colorado. Bergin most recently was director of sales, marketing and events at Andaz Napa in Napa, California.
Sandeep Bhalla is general manager of The Connaught in London, England. Before joining The Connaught as hotel manager in 2018, he worked at a sister hotel in London, The Berkeley, where he was hotel manager.
Robert Burnell is executive chef of all dining venues at the Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. Burnell previously was executive chef at Gedney Farm in Marlborough, Massachusetts.
Philippe Cavory is general manager of The Anam in Cam Ranh, Vietnam. He recently spent four years with YTL Hotels, during which he oversaw a collection of resorts in Malaysia as area general manager.
Sonesta International Hotels Corporation promoted Maureen Fleetwood to regional director of operations for Sonesta ES Suites. Fleetwood had been dual general manager of Sonesta ES Suites Chicago – Lombard in Lombard and Sonesta ES Suites Chicago – Schaumburg, both in Illinois.
JC Resorts promoted Surf & Sand Resort’s Executive Chef Ron Fougeray to corporate executive chef for JC Resorts. The company also appointed Chris Gentile chef de cuisine of Avant at Rancho Bernardo Inn in San Diego, and Chris Reid director of food and beverage at Rancho Bernardo Inn. Gentile previously ran his restaurant, Parma Italian Roots in Scottsdale, Arizona, while Reid was director of food and beverage at La Valencia Hotel in La Jolla, California.
Shinta Mani Hotels appointed Stuart Gemmell general manager for its three Siem Reap, Cambodia, properties: Shinta Mani Angkor, Shinta Mani Shack and Bensley Collection – Shinta Mani Siem Reap luxury pool villas. Gemmell previously was general manager of The Purist Villas in Bali, Indonesia.
The Westin South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, California, hired Dario Gomez as director of sales and marketing. Gomez has more than 30 years’ experience with Marriott International, most recently serving as area sales leader for Orange County, California.
Joe Gonzales is general manager of Residence Inn Denver Cherry Creek in Denver. Gonzales has more than 20 years’ experience in hotel management, operations and sales for various hotels throughout the United States.
WorldHotels appointed Gregory Habeeb president, North America. The company also promoted Melissa Gan to managing director, APAC. Habeeb previously was global vice president, hotel and hospitality for Molton Brown. Gan, who joined WorldHotels in 2006, has grown the brand across the region while developing revenue strategies for each member hotel.
Jorge Hernandez is spa director of Sense, A Rosewood Spa at Rosewood Bermuda in Tucker’s Point, Bermuda. Hernandez formerly was spa director at the Chileno Bay Resort & Residence, part of the Auberge Resorts Collection in Los Cabos, Mexico.
Nicholas Hines is director of food and beverage at InterContinental Stephen F. Austin Hotel in Austin, Texas. Hines most recently was general manager of Southern Art and Bourbon Bar at the InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta.
Thomas Jacobs is executive chef of The Partridge Inn in Augusta, Georgia. The Augusta native has been part of The Partridge Inn’s culinary team for almost three years, most recently serving as acting executive chef.
New England native Jacob Jasinski joined The Chanler at Cliff Walk in Newport, Rhode Island, as executive chef. He has held high-level positions at hotels and restaurants throughout the U.S., including Joel Robuchon in Las Vegas; White Barn Inn in Kennebunkport, Main; Castle Hill Inn in Newport; and Ocean House in Watch Hill, Rhode Island.
Naples Grande Beach Resort in Naples, Florida, appointed Mounir Loqmane chef of the signature restaurant, Catch of the Pelican. Born and raised in Morocco, Loqmane previously worked for other Naples-area restaurants, including Veranda E at The Escalante, U.S.S. Nemo and Bleu Provence.
Christina Mackey is director of human resources for the Grand Plaza Hotel and The Beachcomber, both Benchmark Resorts & Hotels in St. Pete Beach, Florida. Mackey previously was executive human resources director for Remington Hotels of Tampa/St. Petersburg, Florida.
Anantara appointed Jorge Manzur general manager of Anantara Villa Padierna Palace Benahavis Marbella Resort in Marbella, Spain. Manzur was general manager at Hotel Puente Romano, also in Marbella. Anantara also announced Husam Malik as general manager of Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara in Doha, Qatar. In addition to his new role at the Banana Island Resort, Malik will also continue his current role as general manager at Anantara sister brand property, Souq Al Wakra Hotel by Tivoli, Al Wakra, Qatar.
Benchmark appointed Sandra McDowell director of human resources for Stonewall Resort in Roanoke, West Virginia. McDowell had been director of human resources for William R. Sharpe, Jr., Hospital of Weston, West Virginia.
Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa in Palm Beach, Florida, named Tim Nardi general manager. Nardi, who has been based in South Florida for nearly his entire career, most recently was vice president of hotels for Menin Hospitality.
Cindy Ramesh is complex director of sales and marketing for Hilton Hotels San Francisco Union Square, taking over for Frank Manchen, who was promoted to executive director, Hilton Direct. Ramesh most recently was complex director of sales for the two San Francisco properties.
The Set Hotels appointed Sherry Reynolds director of group sales. Reynolds was group sales executive at Associated Luxury Hotels International before holding senior sales executive positions with both Starwood Hotels & Resorts and KSL Resorts.
Coury Hospitality named Tom Santora chief commercial officer, as well as managing director of Hotel Vin, an Autograph Collection boutique hotel, and Harvest Hall, an experiential food hall, both part of Grapevine Main, a mixed-use development in Grapevine, Texas. Santora had been chief commercial officer for Associated Luxury Hotels.
The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club in Naples, Florida, named Shawn Shortall spa director. Prior to joining the property, Shortall was spa director for the Bellezza Spa in Miami, Florida.
Christoph Strahm is general manager at Kempinski Hotel Guiyang, China. He joined the property from Doha, Qatar, where he was the residence manager at Kempinski Residences and Suites.
The AC Hotel Los Angeles South Bay in El Segundo, California, welcomed Dustin Taylor as executive chef. He will also drive the launch of Flora, the hotel’s rooftop restaurant and bar, opening in September. Taylor previously was chef at The Anchor in Venice, California, Michael’s Santa Monica in Santa Monica, California, among others.
Kevin Tuohy is general manager of the Holiday Inn Saratoga Springs, Saratoga Springs, New York, which recently came under New Castel Hotels & Resorts’ management. Tuohy most recently was general manager of the Delta Hotel by Marriott in Utica, New York.

Hotel Californian in Santa Barbara, California, appointed a new culinary team: Travis Watson is executive chef, Paul Osborne is chef de cuisine and Ronald Viloria is pastry chef. Watson most recently was executive chef at Rancho Bernardo Inn & Spa in San Diego. Osborne hails from the Rosewood Miramar Beach in Montecito, California, where he was chef de cuisine managing operations for Caruso’s, the property’s flagship restaurant. Viloria most recently was executive pastry chef at Viceroy Snowmass in Aspen, Colorado.
Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Farmington, Pennsylvania, appointed Carrie Yauch director of sales. Yauch had been director of sales and marketing at Prospera, a Pittsburgh-based hospitality management company.
Westin Grand Cayman, Seven Mile Beach, Cayman Islands, appointed Michael Zolcak general manager of outdoor operations. Zolcak joined the property following a two-year run as hotel manager of the Mayfair Hotel & Spa in Coconut Grove, Florida.
