Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment (MGE) appointed Mark Rosa senior vice president and chief information officer to oversee strategic business decisions related to technology across MGE properties. Rosa will assess the relative impact of emerging technology on strategic business needs and provide recommendations and insight into technologies related to MGE’s competitive position.
“With iGaming and mobile technology driving the casino industry today, [MGE] is honored to welcome [Rosa] into the fold, where he will manage the increased use of cutting-edge technology that will better position the MGE enterprise for growth and expansion in the coming years,” CEO Mario Kontomerkos said.
Prior to this appointment, Rosa was vice president of internal audit for education solutions company Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.

Provenance Hotels named Matt Bernard general manager of Sentinel in Portland, Oregon. Bernard previously was general manager at The Standard in Los Angeles.
Ahead of its March 16 opening, Origin Raleigh in Raleigh, North Carolina, welcomed its core team: Todd Buchko is general manager, Alison Jenkins is director of sales, Karlee Tanel is brand activation manager and Stephen Alsop is executive chef of Good Day Good Night. Buchko was general manager of the 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel in Clayton, New York, while Jenkins joined from The Watergate Hotel, Washington, D.C. Tanel will oversee programming, partnerships and activations for Origin Raleigh. Alsop has helmed kitchens for country clubs and hotels across the country.
Stonebridge Cos. promoted John Chisman to area general manager, overseeing the Residence Inn Washington Capitol Hill/Navy Yard in Washington, D.C., and the Residence Inn Herndon Reston in Herndon, Virginia.
Chris Collins is general manager of The Driskill in Austin, Texas. Collins recently was regional vice president of Hyatt Hotels Corp. in Orlando, Florida, and director of sales and marketing of the Hyatt Regency Orlando.
Emeline, opening in May in Charleston, South Carolina, named Kara Czaplicki general manager of restaurant and bar operations, and Tim Morton executive chef. Czaplicki spent the past year on Makeready’s restaurant and bar operations task force. Morton recently led the opening of Mercantile and Mash in Charleston as executive chef.
Nick D’Amico is general manager of Urgo Hotels Canada’s Hilton Garden Inn and the Homewood Suites Montreal Midtown, both opening late 2020 in Montreal, Canada. He recently managed Urgo Hotels Canada’s two hotels in Tremblant, Canada. Also, Mathieu Larochelle is general manager of Humaniti Montreal, part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection, also opening late 2020 in Montreal. Larochelle has participated in several hotel openings in Montreal over the course of his career.
Jodi Demko joined The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay in Half Moon Bay, California, as director of leisure travel sales. She previously was director of sales, travel industry at The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe in Truckee, California. Darren Warner also joined the The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay as director of engineering. With a career spanning 25 years, Warner recently was director of engineering at The Abu Dhabi Edition Hotel in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Spire Hospitality named Barbara Doucet vice president of human resources. Doucet spent 12 years with Omni Hotels & Resorts and implemented human resources direction for an organization of more than 50 Omni Hotels & Resorts.
Timbers Resorts named Nick Fielding corporate director of F&B. Fielding has more than 23 years of experience in luxury hospitality, including three years at Timbers Resorts, previously serving as director of operations.
Marthica Galvis is director of marketing at 1 Hotel South Beach in Miami Beach, Florida. She had been director of marketing at W Miami.
Hilton McLean Tysons Corner in McLean, Virginia, named Scott Hamilton general manager. He recently was resident manager at Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort in Honolulu.
Following a multimillion-dollar renovation, The Drake Oak Brook, an independent Autograph Collection and First Hospitality Group hotel in Oak Brook, Illinois, named Lee Hoener general manager, Cathleen Knobbe director of sales and marketing, and Ezequiel Dominguez executive chef. Hoener had held executive positions in Oak Brook and California before accepting this role. Knobbe was corporate sales manager at Doubletree by Hilton in Oak Brook while Dominguez opened Tely’s, a restaurant in La Porte, Indiana, as executive chef and managed a banquet hall in East Dundee, Illinois.
Somerset Hills Hotel in Warren, New Jersey, appointed Ashley Jacobs area director of sales and marketing. Jacobs departed Interstate Hotels & Resorts in Tampa, Florida, where she was area general manager.
The Inn at Penn, A Hilton Hotel in Philadelphia, named Dale Johnson director of operations. Prior to this appointment, Johnson was general manager of the DoubleTree by Hilton Campbell – Pruneyard Plaza in Campbell, California.
The Magnolia St. Louis, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel in St. Louis, named Matt Korsos general manager and Elvira Skomorowska director of sales. Korsos was part of the opening team of the Magnolia St. Louis in 2013, serving as director of operations. Skomorowska previously worked for Journal Hotels in Chicago.

Remington Hotels appointed Joe Masi senior vice president of operations and Rob Carl vice president of facilities and capital planning. Masi joined Remington Hotels from Schulte Hospitality Group, where he was vice president of operations. Carl returns to the company after serving as senior vice president for FelCor Lodging Trust and senior director, construction and planning at Phoenix American Hospitality.
Paula McColgan is director of sales and marketing for The Carlton Tower, Jumeirah and Jumeirah Lowndes Hotel, both in London. McColgan recently headed the sales and marketing team at Kimpton Fitzroy London, overseeing the hotel’s launch in April 2018.
Peter Mikkelsen is area general manager Berlin, Germany, for Steigenberger Hotels and Resorts. Mikkelsen had been managing director of the Steigenberger Hotel Cologne in Cologne. The company also announced Steffi Wisotzky as general manager of the Steigenberger Airport Hotel in Berlin, and Kathrin Schissler as general manager of the IntercityHotel Hauptbahnhof Berlin. Wisotzky has been with the hotel group for 20 years, most recently working at IntecityHotel Berlin Hauptbahnhof. Schissler had been general manager at the IntercityHotel Ulm in Ulm.
Delta Hotels by Marriott Dallas Allen & Watters Creek Convention Center in Allen, Texas, named Bryan Patton executive chef. Previously, Patton was executive sous chef at the Hyatt Regency Dallas at Reunion Tower in Dallas.
The Renaissance Toledo Downtown Hotel in Toledo, Ohio, appointed Michael Rigot executive chef. He joined the property following stints at Cypress Lodge in Memphis, Tennessee, and Rye Bar & Southern Kitchen in Raleigh, North Carolina, where he served as executive chef.
Kinga Rychalska is director of sales and marketing at Kimpton Saint George in Toronto, Canada. Rychalska has a history with InterContinental Hotels Group dating to 2003, when she joined as a sales manager. She since has held titles of sales manager, associate director of sales, and director of sales and marketing.

Sahai has experience in the United States, Singapore and India leading luxury hotel brands, including as general manager with The Leela Hotels, Marriott International and more. Roche draws experience from numerous pre-opening, operational, marketing and creative assignments, including prior roles as global director and director of new product development at Aman Spa, and regional spa and wellness director for Set Hotels.
