People on the move: Mainsail, Terranea, InterCity

Mainsail Lodging & Development appointed Jill Lemaster chief financial officer and Tom Stoffo director of technology. Lemaster, who joined the company from Hilton Grand Vacations in Orlando, Florida, will oversee finance, project accounting and hotel operational accounting, working with Mainsail Lodging & Development’s senior leadership and stakeholders to identify additional growth opportunities for the company’s core domestic business. Stoffo has worked in hospitality technology for the past 13 years. Starting at Tradewinds Resort in St. Petersburg, Florida, Stoffo went on to lead technology departments with Interstate Hotels and Davidson Hotel Group, as well as Mainsail Lodging and Development.

The company also named Andrew Houghton managing partner for Mainsail Vacation Rentals, the group’s vacation rental experience that launched this year in Sarasota, Florida. Houghton arrived at Mainsail from The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong, in Pudong, China, where he spent two years as general manager.

Curtain Bluff in Antigua, West Indies, appointed Andrea Balladori general manager. Balladori recently was executive assistant manager at Gayana Marine Resort in Sabah, Malaysia.

Westin Tampa Bay in Tampa Bay, Florida, hired Colleen Beck as director of sales and marketing, and Christopher Reagan as director of finance. Beck has more than 25 years of hospitality experience, many spent working in Florida. Reagan recently was director of finance at The Westshore Grand, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel in Tampa, Florida.

Stonebridge Companies in Denver named Alex Conlon revenue analyst. Conlon recently completed an internship at The Ritz-Carlton Club and Residences in Vail, Colorado. The company also named Drew Considine real estate associate. Considine has experience with Timbers Resorts and Pyramid Hotel Group.

Madeline Carlson is restaurant manager of The Hat Tavern at The Grand Summit Hotel in Summit, New Jersey. Carlson formerly was F&B manager for a hotel and executive learning and development center managed by Benchmark Resorts & Hotels.

Aparium Hotel Group appointed Jim Crawford general manager of Hotel Deco in Omaha, Nebraska. Prior to joining the team, Crawford spent four years as assistant general manager at Embassy Suites Downtown Omaha.

Viceroy Hotels and Resorts named Lanie Dean Griffin area director of group sales for its Urban Retreats collection. Previously, Griffin was director of citywide sales for Starwood Hotels and Resorts, director of Western region convention sales for the Los Angeles Tourism and Convention Bureau, national sales manager for The Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco, and director of sales for The St. Regis San Francisco.

Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, named Valerie Iwasaki senior leisure account director. Iwasaki recently spent three years as account director leisure for The St. Regis Princeville Resort in Princeville, Hawaii.

IntercityHotel named four managers of properties in Germany: Anja Jansen is general manager of IntercityHotel Kiel in Kiel; Ulrike Fröhlich is director of IntercityHotel Hamburg Hauptbahnhof in Hamburg; Burkhard Kohlhoff is general manager of IntercityHotel Hamburg Dammtor-Messe in Hamburg; and Thomas Nixdorf is general manager of the pre-opening phase at IntercityHotel Hannover Hauptbahnhof Ost in Hannover. Jansen previously worked at the Renthof in Kassel, Germany, while Fröhlich was general manager of IntercityHotel Kiel. Kohlhoff recently was named General Manager of the Year by IntercityHotel. Nixdorf opened IntercityHotel Hamburg Dammtor-Messe in 2014 as general manager.

Montage Hotels & Resorts appointed Joseph Mattioli general manager of Montage Deer Valley, Park City, Utah. Mattioli joins the property from The St. Regis Washington, D.C., where he was general manager for the past two years.

Concord Hospitality promoted Richard Rose to vice president of business development. Rose joined Concord in 2007 as opening director of sales and marketing for the Renaissance Raleigh North Hills Hotel in Raleigh, North Carolina, before transitioning to general manager/area general manager in 2011.

The Renaissance New York Chelsea Hotel, opening this fall in New York City, named Chris Rynkar general manager and Yelithza Gonzales director of sales and marketing. Rynkar has held managerial and operational positions at brands including Hyatt, Marriott and Real Hospitality. Gonzales recently opened New York City’s first Hyatt House as director of sales and marketing.

Davidson Hotels & Resorts and its in-house food and beverage operating division, Davidson Restaurant Group, appointed Marc Taft vice president, food and beverage operations. Taft has 32 years of experience, most recently as executive chef and owner of several acclaimed restaurants in the Atlanta area. He also started his own hospitality company, Southern Fried Hospitality.

The St. Regis San Francisco named Joseph Tiano executive chef. Tiano recently spent a year traveling throughout the United States working at Marriott International properties as a temporary executive sous chef through the company’s Operations Support Resources program. The property also welcomed Kurtis Sylvester as account director. Prior to joining the property, Sylvester was the director of West Coast group sales at Las Alcobas, a Luxury Collection Hotel in St. Helena, California, and oversaw group sales for Bardessono Resort and Spa in Yountville, California.

The St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort in Bal Harbour, Florida, appointed Conrado Tromp executive chef. The Dutch chef has more than 23 years of experience, most recently at The Ritz-Carlton, Osaka, Japan, where he oversaw seven culinary operations.

Bluegreen Vacations Corporation named Ahmad Wardak executive vice president and chief marketing officer. Susan Saturday returned to the company as executive vice president and chief administrative officer. Wardak joined Bluegreen Vacations in 2003 and most recently served as executive vice president of corporate development and innovation. Saturday initially joined the company in 1988, but most recently was executive vice president and chief human resource officer at BBX Capital Corporation.

The Redbury New York in New York City appointed Garette Ziem director of sales and marketing. Ziem had been director of sales and marketing for Hotel Hendricks in New York City.
