NEW ROLES FOR KEMPINSKI’S COOs

Kempinski Hotels has announced new roles for two of its COOs. Xavier Destribats, during the past seven years chief operations officer, The Americas, moves back from Cuba to Geneva and takes over the European region in addition to The Americas. Timur Sentuerk, who lately oversaw Europe, the Middle East and Africa, is moving to Dubai to fully concentrate on the Middle East and Africa. Both executives are members of the managing board of Kempinski Hotels.

Timur Sentuerk joined Kempinski in 2022, having previously gathered senior management experience at major hospitality brands, including The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, Oberoi Hotels and Langham Hospitality Group.

Xavier Destribats joined Kempinski in 2011, having previously worked with Morgan Stanley Capital and Hyatt Hotels Corporation. Initially appointed as senior vice president of operations, he took over the role of president Europe in 2014 and became COO for The Americas in 2017.

SH HOTELS & RESORTS APPOINTS VP OF DEVELOPMENT

SH Hotels & Resorts has announced the appointment of Frank Sorgiovanni as vice president of development (Asia Pacific). With extensive experience in brand positioning across key markets in the region, Sorgiovanni will spearhead new business opportunities in the Asia Pacific region across each of the company’s hotel brands.

Before SH Hotels & Resorts, Sorgiovanni spent four years at Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas, serving as both director and head of development. Before that, he was senior vice president, strategic advisory and head of research for Asia Pacific at JLL Hotels & Hospitality.

Noble House Hotels & Resorts has promoted Darrell Stark to vice president of revenue strategy and sales.

Stark brings over three decades of experience in revenue strategy, sales, distribution and e-commerce to his new position. Notable properties in his portfolio include Noble House’s Little Palm Island Resort and Spa, The Breakers Palm Beach and The Boca Raton. He also served as vice president of revenue strategy and distribution for Noble House Hotels & Resorts for over four years before his promotion.

Kimpton Everly Hollywood has appointed Benjamin Palmer as general manager. Palmer has been general manager for over 10 years at various hotels, including Sunset Tower Hotel, San Vicente Bungalows and boutique hotel Hotel 850 SVB in West Hollywood, CA. Other previous roles include director of operations at Sunset Tower Hotel and director of housekeeping at SLS Hotel at Beverly Hills.
