Here are more of this week’s people moving and shaking in the industry.
Carmel Valley Ranch in Carmel Valley, California, appointed Matt Bailey managing director of the 500-acre property. Bailey recently spent five years as president and chief operating officer at Aqua-Aston Hospitality in Honolulu, Hawaii.
The Peninsula Beverly Hills in Beverly Hills, California, named Sharon Cabral director of marketing. In her most recent role, Cabral served as Rosewood Hotel Group’s task force marketing director, responsible for opening several hotels in California.
Michelle Caporicci is now regional vice president of Auberge Resorts Collection’s properties in Colorado and general manager of Madeline Hotel & Residences in Telluride, Colorado. Caporicci was managing director of The St. Regis and Westin Langkawi in Langkawi, Malaysia.
Janet Chan is group director of sales and marketing at Shinta Mani Hotels. She joined the company from her most recent role as director of luxury sales, North Asia, Accor Luxury Brands.
The Josie Hotel in Rossland, British Columbia, Canada, named Jesse Crockett general manager. Previously, Crockett worked at SilverStar Mountain Resort in Silver Star Mountain, British Columbia, where he was director of hospitality.
Coast Hilltop Inn, a 115-room property in Pullman, Washington, promoted Michael Crowder to front officer manager. He spent the past year at the hotel as a front desk agent.
Tiffany Davis is general manager at Ocean 22 by Hilton Grand Vacations Club in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, while Caleb Graham is general manager at Ocean Oak in Hilton Head, South Carolina. Davis previously was general manager of Embassy Suites Mandalay Beach Resort, Oxnard, California. Graham was director of operations at The Plaza Resort & Spa and general manager at Boardwalk Inn & Suites Daytona Beach, both in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica at Peninsula Papagayo appointed Arnaud Dieutegard spa director and Heriberto Peña health and wellness ambassador for the renovated spa and wellness center at the resort on Costa Rica’s Peninsula Papagayo. Dieutegard has more than a decade of experience directing Four Seasons spas, including serving as spa manager at Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea, Hawaii. Peña has spent nearly 10 years as yoga instructor at Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica. During that time, he traveled to India and Thailand to study Eastern medicine and philosophy.
Sunny Haroon is general manager of Hotel Verde Zanzibar – Azam Luxury Resort and Spa in Zanzibar, Tanzania. Haroon’s career spans more than 18 years across various luxury brands.
Hotel Erwin, a boutique hotel in Venice Beach, California, appointed Derek Haug general manager. Haug comes to the property from Loews Santa Monica Beach in Santa Monica, California, where he oversaw all food, beverage, conference, catering and spa operations for the resort.
CLC World Resorts & Hotels appointed Julian Houchin group resort management director. Most recently, Houchin and his partners developed a hospitality business in Croatia, positioning Sun Gardens Dubrovnik to compete with other luxury family resorts in Europe.
Jonathan Kay is general manager of Connemara Coast Hotel, Galway, Ireland. For the past six years, Kay was group general manager at the Gleneagle Group based in Killarney, Ireland.
InterContinental Hotels Group named Matt Kistler senior vice president of global insights, analytics and data. He most recently was executive vice president, chief strategy and client partner at Symphony AI.
The Dominick in New York City appointed Egemen Kocak director of corporate sales and Tina Santana spa director of the recently debuted Babor Signature Spa. Kocak had been regional corporate sales manager at Sbe in London, England, where he managed the company’s top-producing portfolio. Santana previously served as general manager at Equinox Bryant Park, and group and events manager at The Setai Club and Spa Wall Street, both in New York City.
Best Western Hotels & Resorts appointed Brad LeBlanc senior vice president and chief development officer, overseeing North American development. With 30 years of hospitality experience, LeBlanc joins Best Western’s executive team from Serendipity Labs, where he was senior vice president of franchise and partner development.
JW Marriott Hotel Santo Domingo in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, appointed Alejandro Larrondo general manager and Carlos Sebastiani executive chef. Larrondo previously was hotel manager at the Sheraton Santiago Hotel & Convention Center/The Luxury Collection San Cristobal Tower in Santiago, Chile. Sebastiani has held positions ranging from sous chef to executive chef in myriad restaurants in Peru and Chile.
Dominic Mayes is property director at Bloc Hotels, tasked with spearheading expansion in the United Kingdom and across Europe. He had been property director for Qbic Hotels and before that was head of hotels and proprietary partner at Knight Frank.
Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, welcomed Rubel Miah as general manager. Formerly, he was hotel manager at the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit in Bangkok, Thailand.
Enchantment Group promoted Jim Root from his current role as general manager at Mii Amo in Sedona, Arizona, to Enchantment Group director of wellbeing.
Le Me´ridien Kota Kinabalu in Sabah, Malaysia, named Kanit Sangmookda general manager. Prior to this appointment, Sangmookda was general manager of Le Me´ridien Jakarta in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Kimpton Nine Zero, a boutique hotel in Boston, appointed David Taylor director of sales and marketing. Taylor most recently was director of sales and marketing for The Charles Hotel in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
UNNA Resorts welcomed Joseph Violi as group general manager for Saint Peter’s Bay Luxury Resort and Residences, and Port Ferdinand Yacht and Beach Club Residences, two seaside properties in Barbados. Violi joined from The Renaissance on Turtle Creek in Dallas, where he was general manager.
