The Hay-Adams, Washington, D.C., has appointed a new director of food and beverage, Alexander Roig, to lead all aspects of the hotel’s culinary operations.
Roig’s commitment to exceptional guest service and experiences is matched by his drive to innovate. With 23 years of experience leading teams in banquet and F&B and delivering Forbes Five Star standard service at high-end East Coast properties, including Georgia’s Sea Island Resort and Florida’s Trump Doral, Alex comes to The Hay-Adams from Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C., which he joined as director of banquet operations in 2017, then as assistant director of food & beverage in 2018.

Roig intends to develop innovations and processes that highlight how central the culinary experience is to every guest interaction, whether in the private dining room, The Lafayette restaurant, the Off the Record bar, at meetings or events, or while enjoying room service.

Conrad Punta de Mita, Mexico, has announced the appointment of its new director of sales and marketing Christopher Anderson. Anderson joins the Conrad Punta de Mita team from Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas, Nevada, where he oversaw all sales and marketing efforts.
Texas-based Highgate, a real estate investment and hospitality management company, announced that Steve Barick has been named as a principal of the organization. Additionally, Highgate also announced an expansion of its senior leadership team through the addition of two new positions: Jim McPartlin has joined as chief people officer and Jeff Toscano has returned to Highgate as the executive vice president of luxury and lifestyle. Barick was most recently Highgate’s chief operating officer. McPartlin joins Highgate from Forbes Travel Guide, where he was vice president of leadership development. Toscano originally joined Highgate in 2011 and returns from Davidson Hotels & Resorts, Atlanta, Georgia, where he served as the executive vice president of Pivot.
Washington, D.C. hotel The Hay-Adams has named a new head concierge, Franziska Boelke. Boelke was hired as concierge eight years ago. Sandor Subert also joined The Hay-Adams as concierge. Sander served as concierge at The Willard InterContinental Hotel, Washington, D.C., for 24 years.
Sheraton Kaua’I Coconut Beach Resort, Kauai, Hawaii, announced the appointment of Julian Cable-Treadwell as the new director of marketing & sales. Most recently, Cable Treadwell was director of marketing at Hilton – The San Juan Collection in Puerto Rico.
The King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort, a MMI Hotel Group property on St. Simons Island, Georgia, announced the appointment of Thomas Cook as executive chef. Prior to joining The King and Prince, Cook was executive chef at Trattoria ll Mulino at Hilton Nashville Downtown in Tennessee.
Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort Bonnet Creek, Orlando, Florida, has announced the appointment of Alex Emery as chef de cuisine for its deep blu Seafood Grille dining outlet. Emery was most recently executive chef at the La Valencia Hotel, La Jolla, California.
The DoubleTree at Denver Tech Center, Greewnwood Village, Colorado, announced Chris Kinsail as its new executive chef. Kinsail has experience in a multitude of culinary roles and has opened multiple hotels in his career.
Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club, Dana Point, California, welcomed new Director of Spa & Wellness Avigale LaGrass. Prior to joining the hotel, LaGrass held the role of director of wellness at Turtle Bay Resort’s Nalu Spa in Kahuku, Hawaii.
Clayton Members Club & Hotel, Denver, Colorado, has named Esther Lee Leach its new director of membership development and engagement. Leach is also the publisher of Cherry Creek Fashion Magazine, a monthly digital style publication focused on building an inclusive community; she was previously the senior fashion editor of SHE Caribbean Magazine, and has done work with other top international publications, including Japanese fashion magazine Vogue Nippon.
Vail Resorts, Broomfield, Colorado, announced that Kirsten Lynch will be appointed chief executive officer and elected to the company’s board of directors. Rob Katz will be appointed executive chairperson of the board and remain fully active and engaged in Vail Resorts’ key strategic decisions and priorities. Additionally, Ryan Bennett will be named chief marketing officer. Lynch joined Vail Resorts in 2011 as chief marketing officer and previously held senior leadership positions at PepsiCo, New York, and Kraft Foods, Chicago, Illinois. Katz was appointed to the Vail Resorts board of directors in 1996 and named chief executive officer in 2006. Bennett joined Vail Resorts in 2018 as vice president of marketing analytics before he was promoted to vice president of marketing, lift revenue.
The Sanctuary Beach Resort, Monterey Bay, California, announced the appointment of Jonathan Macioce as its new general manager. Previously, Macioce was director of operations for Montage Laguna Beach in Southern California.

Bryan McMahon has joined Hotel Wailea, Hawaii, as executive chef. He most recently worked at SPAGO Maui at the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea.Two leadership appointments have been made at the new Kimpton Armory Hotel in Bozeman, Montana. James Miller joined as the general manager after recently converting the Intercontinental Stephen F. Austin to another brand in Austin, Texas. Courtney Reeves is the new director of sales and marketing. Prior to joining Kimpton, Reeves served as director of leisure sales at various properties, including The Villa by Barton G. in Miami, Terranea Resort in Southern California, and One&Only’s Mandarina and Palmilla resorts in Mexico.
Rosewood Mayakoba, a resort in Mexico’s Riviera Maya, has appointed mixologist Joshua Monaghan as bar director for the property. Prior to his appointment, Monaghan spent the past three years at Fifty Mils, the innovative cocktail concept at Four Seasons Hotel Mexico City.
Motto by Hilton New York City Chelsea, New York, announced the appointments of Bassim Ouachani as general manager and Ryan Cortese as director of sales and marketing for the hotel slated to open this fall. Prior to joining the Motto team, Ouachani served as general manager for Arlo Soho in New York City. Cortese most recently served as complex director of sales with multiple NYC properties.
Diego Oviedo has been appointed general manager of Costa Rica’s newest resort, Botánika Osa Peninsula, Curio Collection by Hilton in Puerto Jiménez, Costa Rica. Oviedo’s most recent role was resident manager of Gran Hotel Costa Rica, Curio Collection by Hilton, in San José.

Jamaica Inn, Ocho Rios, Jamaica, announced the promotion of its staff members Gerry Ridley, Tanya Robinson and Shenae Grant. Ridley has 16 years of experience in hospitality. Grant worked her way up the ranks of Jamaica Inn’s front office of operations over the course of 10 years. After 13 years with Jamaica Inn, Robinson has been promoted to senior reservationist.
Tampa, Florida-based McKibbon Hospitality announce the appointment of Jamie Tudico as market director of sales for its three Asheville, North Carolina properties. In her new role, Jamie will oversee all sales strategies and events for Kimpton Hotel Arras, Aloft Asheville Downtown, AC Hotel by Marriott Asheville Downtown, as well as the AC Hotel’s rooftop bar and restaurant, Capella on 9. Tudico most recently served as vice president of sales and marketing for Milan Hotel Group, developing and executing sales and marketing strategies for six hotels in Asheville.
California-based Viceroy Hotel Group announced Mark Vanderwielen as the new area general manager of Hotel Zelos, Hotel Zetta and Hotel Zeppelin, part of Viceroy Hotels & Resorts’ Urban Retreats collection in San Francisco, California. Most recently, Vanderwielen was the vice president of hotel and property operations at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Italy-based Starhotels has appointed Alex von Ulmenstein to the newly created role of director of food & beverage for its three luxury London hotels – The Franklin, The Gore and The Pelham. von Ulmenstein joins Starhotels from Wentworth Club in Surrey, where he was director of food & beverage.
