Ovolo Hotels joins hands with Small Luxury Hotels of the World

Ovolo Hotels, the collection of boutique designer hotels, has teamed up with Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) to elevate its presence in the Asia Pacific region and beyond.

The alliance with SLH will help Ovolo grow its global portfolio through SLH’s sales, distribution and marketing platforms.

The strategic partnership will seamlessly integrate several hotels from Ovolo’s collection into SLH’s collection, with plans to incorporate the By Ovolo Collective collection by this year’s first quarter.

The properties which will be integrated into SLH’s collection include:

Ovolo hotels:

  • Ovolo Woolloomooloo in Sydney, Australia
  • Ovolo South Yarra in Melbourne, Australia
  • Ovolo The Valley in Brisbane, Australia
  • Ovolo Nishi in Canberra, Australia
  • Ovolo Central in Hong Kong

By Ovolo Collective:

  • Laneways by Ovolo in Melbourne, Australia
  • Mamaka by Ovolo in Bali, Indonesia

The integration of these eight hotels into the SLH collection will open up newer markets for Ovolo through increased sales and distribution networks, Ovolo said in a statement.

“At Ovolo, we are thrilled to partner with SLH, a brand synonymous with independently spirited hotels and excellence. This strategic alliance not only strengthens our presence across key global markets while remaining independently owned and operated but also allows us to showcase the distinct character and innovation that defines Ovolo while connecting with travelers emotionally,” said Ovolo Hotels CEO Dave Baswal.

With an avant-garde approach to tourism and hospitality, Ovolo’s portfolio comprises boutique designer hotels, each property featuring innovative designs, technological integration and commitment to sustainability.

Founded by entrepreneur Girish Jhunjhnuwala, the Ovolo Group is a family-owned and privately-operated business. The Hong Kong-based group operates four hotels and three restaurants in Hong Kong, as well as eight hotels and seven restaurants across Australia.

Ovolo’s portfolio also includes By Ovolo Collective, a collection of four hotels. These include Nishi Apartments in Canberra, The Sheung Wan by Ovolo and The Aberdeen Harbour in Hong Kong, and Mamaka Kuta Beach in Bali.

SLH currently has an existing collection of more than 550 independent hotels in over 90 countries, and this partnership with Ovolo will further elevate its presence in Australia, said Mark Wong, senior vice president Asia Pacific, SLH.

“Each Ovolo hotel, with its unique character, exemplifies the high standards of excellence and impeccably embodies the spirit of individual character and connects with the independently minded traveler that SLH member hotels are known for,” said Wong.
