Under Canvas has announced the Outdoor Collection by Under Canvas, a portfolio of properties offering nature-based stays. The first locations, The Fields of Michigan and Bar N Ranch, provide a range of accommodations, including safari-style tents, cottages, cabins and lodge rooms.
The announcement follows Under Canvas’ acquisition of The Fields of Michigan, a 30-acre property near South Haven, Mich. The site features a working blueberry farm, guest tents and cottages with ensuite bathrooms, electricity and private fire pits. Amenities include a pool, dining at The Willow, massage services and access to seasonal events. Guests can use complimentary bikes to explore trails or visit nearby beaches and watersports facilities.
Bar N Ranch, located six miles from the west entrance of Yellowstone National Park, is also part of the new collection. The 200-acre property includes lodge rooms with fireplaces and log cabins with one to four bedrooms. Activities available in the area include fly-fishing, horseback riding, hiking, whitewater rafting and guided tours of Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Park.
Last summer, Hyatt announced an exclusive alliance with Under Canvas that allows World of Hyatt members to access Under Canvas locales and accrue/exchange points.
“We are excited to introduce the Outdoor Collection, which builds upon our commitment to providing unique outdoor hospitality experiences,” said Matt Gaghen, CEO of Under Canvas. “The Fields of Michigan and Bar N Ranch showcase our focus on properties that connect guests to the natural environment.”

The Fields’ location offers access to Lake Michigan’s beaches and South Haven’s dining and events. Guests can pick blueberries from the farm, use on-site hiking trails and take part in the camp’s seasonal programming. The Willow provides communal dining with small plates, shareable dishes, beverages and an evening Supper Club on weekends.
At Bar N Ranch, guests can explore the region’s national parks and engage in outdoor recreation. The property serves as a base for activities in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, with options for guided wildlife tours and scenic drives through Lamar Valley and the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. The ranch offers dining with a focus on locally sourced ingredients.
Under Canvas has expanded its presence in outdoor hospitality, with the Outdoor Collection complementing its existing upscale camping experiences. The company continues to develop properties that integrate with their natural surroundings while providing accommodations suited for various travel styles.
“The Outdoor Collection is a natural evolution for Under Canvas,” Gaghen said. “By acquiring The Fields and integrating Bar N Ranch, we are broadening our offerings and reinforcing our position in outdoor-focused hospitality.”
The company plans to evaluate additional locations for the Outdoor Collection, focusing on destinations with strong outdoor recreation appeal. Future properties will follow the same approach, emphasizing nature-driven experiences and guest accessibility to surrounding landscapes.
