Nusfjord Village & Resort, a historic boutique hotel in Norway, has announced the appointment of Claudia Rodrigues as its new general manager, effective February 2026. Rodrigues brings nearly two decades of global hospitality leadership experience spanning Europe, the South Pacific and Africa to her new role.
“It has been essential for us to find a leader who not only understands but embodies the essence of Nusfjord’s hospitality—an experience shaped by nature, history, and Norwegian culture, where warm and genuine guest connections are at the core of everything we do,” says Caroline Krefting, owner of Nusfjord. “Claudia intuitively grasps the atmosphere we strive to create. With her depth of experience and remarkable capability, she is uniquely equipped to carry our vision forward. We are truly excited to continue shaping extraordinary guest experiences together with Claudia in the years ahead.”
After earning her MBA in Lisbon, Rodrigues began her career in the advertising world as an accounts supervisor in Madrid, managing several EMEA brands. Over the past 18 years, she has served as general manager for hotels and resorts in Spain, Fiji, Vietnam and Papua New Guinea, as well as BOH operations director for Barbuda Ocean Club in Antigua and Barbuda. Most recently, she led operations with Belmond Safaris in Botswana.
“Nusfjord is a heritage village with over 400 years of history, surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of the Lofoten Islands,” Rodriges said. “It offers guests the rare luxury of time, presence, and immersion. The opportunity to help shape a destination that tells its own story and creates truly meaningful experiences is profoundly inspiring.”
A member of Small Luxury Hotels’ Considerate Collection, Nusfjord is located in the heart of the Lofoten Islands and offers restored 19th-century rorbuer cabins once used by fishermen.
