Pandox divests hotels: Sweden’s Pandox AB sold eight hotels in Sweden to Midstar AB for 850 million Swedish kronor (US$100.8 million). The company said that it was part of a strategy to focus on larger full-service hotels. The hotels are in regional and smaller Swedish cities and average 121 rooms.
NY’s Hotel Elysee sold: The historic Hotel Elysee was sold for US$55 million (US$533,980 per key) to its operators, Richard Born, Ira Drukier and Henry Kallan. (Its famous Monkey Bar is operated separately.) The Midtown hotel was owned by the Quain family.

Wyndham to buy Sarovar? An Indian news site reported that Wyndham Worldwide Corp. is in talks to acquire Sarovar Hotels Pvt. Ltd. for 5 billion rupees (US$73.3 million) and company debt. Sarovar has 70 hotels under its Premier, Portico and Hometel brands and operates Radisson hotels and is partly owned by U.S. investment firms.
Vingroup in Sydney: Developer Vingroup spent US$22.5 million to purchase a 1,030-square-meter (3,379-square-foot) parcel in Sydney, the first such foray into the city by a Vietnamese company. Vingroup plans to build a 172-room hotel.

First Group buys Dubai development: Dubai-based property developer First Group purchased the 486-room Wyndham Dubai Marina, which is due to open this month. The seller and the purchase price were not disclosed.
Dalata to build in Dublin: Dalata Hotel Group plc acquired the owner of the former Charlemont Clinic site in Dublin from developer U+I plc for €11.9 million (US$13.3 million) in cash. Last month the city approved building the 181-room Clayton Hotel. Dalata plans to invest more than €40 million (US$44.8 million) to develop the site.
InterContinental in Phuket: InterContinental Hotel Groups signed a management agreement with Proud Resort Phuket Co. Ltd. to develop the InterContinental Phuket Resort, on the island’s west coast. Scheduled to open in 2019, it will be the sixth IHG property in the Phuket area.
RIU, Nakheel in JV: Spain’s RIU Hotels & Resorts and Dubai developer Nakheel signed a joint venture agreement to develop an all-inclusive resort in Dubai to open in 2019. Nakheel opened its first hotel this month and plans nine more.
Miraval promotion: Destination spa operator Miraval Group promoted Sue Adkins to vice president to lead program development, particularly to support the company’s goal to add full-service resorts and spas. The 17-year company veteran previously was director of programs at Miraval Tucson Resort & Spa.
Radisson in Brazil: Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group announced the opening of a 164-room Radisson in the northeastern Brazil city of Recife, in partnership with Atlantica Hotels International.
Sofitel in Malaysia: Singapore property developer Oxley Holdings Ltd. will develop a 207-room So Sofitel Kuala Lumpur and a 590-room So Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Residence, Accor’s first lifestyle-branded residence in Asia. The project, part of a mixed-used development in the city, is set to open in 2020.
DoubleTree sold: The 299-room DoubleTree by Hilton Colorado Springs will undergo a US$7 million after being acquired by an affiliate of GF Management, a hotel ownership and management company. The seller and purchase price were not named.
Oman resort: The Anantara Salalah Al Baleed Resort is scheduled to open this summer in the coastal Oman city. The 136-room resort is a joint venture between Omran Hotels & Resort and property developer Musstir. It will be managed by Anantara Hotels Resorts & Spas.

Compass to manage Victoria: Thailand-based Compass Hospitality Group will manage its eighth hotel in the U.K., the Victoria Hotel in Chadderton, north of Manchester. The 72-room hotel is jointly owned by Compass and Singapore-based Seacare Hospitality Pte Ltd.
