Providence grows UK management. Fairtree Capital’s Hospitality Real Estate private equity fund has acquired four hotels in southwest UK – Queens Hotel and the Palace Hotel in Paignton, Headland Hotel in Torquay, and Northfield Hotel in Minehead. The UK’s Providence Hospitality has secured the contracts to manage all the properties.
NH takes Marseille. NH Hotel Group has announced that starting May 1, 2017, it will begin managing the 150-room Palm Beach Hotel in Marseille, France, under its nhow brand. The property, which was formerly operated by SHPB (Société Hôtelière du Palm Beach), will close in October 2017 to begin a complete refurbishment led by Marseille architect Claire Fatosme et Christian Lefèvre and architect Teresa Sapey from Madrid.
One Trump lawsuit dropped. After settlement negotiations, contractor AES Electrical has dropped its lawsuit against the Trump Organization claiming that the Trump International Hotel in Washington, DC, owed more than US$2 million in unpaid bills, according to a report by BuzzFeed. The dismissal notice didn’t offer any details about whether a settlement was reached.
IACC, MPI cooperation. IACC, the association to certify conference and meetings-focused venues on a global basis, and Meeting Professionals International, the global association for meeting professionals, have announced a five-year global partnership for the mutual benefit of their members. The two associations will share event and learning platforms, including education delivered at annual conferences, regional events, and online as well as research initiatives.
