Starwood to open dual-branded Dallas hotel: In partnership with Atlantic Hotels Group and Civitas Capital Group, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide will open a dual-branded Aloft and Element hotel in Callas. The 224-room hotel is scheduled to open in December 2016.

Mövenpick to open at Boracay beach: Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts signed a deal to manage Sol Marina Resort, which will soon be renamed Mövenpick Resort Boracay, in the Philippines. The 333-key resort will open in December.

 


Changes for Mövenpick El Gouna: Part of Mövenpick Resort & Spa El Gouna in Egypt is now being managed by Orascom Hotels as a separate entity, Bellevue Beach Hotel. This represents 134 rooms out of the property’s original 574 room inventory. The remaining 420 rooms and suites are still operating under the Mövenpick flag.

 


MIG acquires two Hilton hotels: MIG Real Estate acquired two select-service Hilton hotels, the Hilton Garden Inn Savannah Midtown and Hampton Inn & Suites Savannah Midtown, in Georgia.

 


Pandox to operate Quality Hotel Prince Philip: Pandox Operations entered into an agreement with Nordic Choice Hotels to take over operations at Quality Hotel Prince Philip in Skärholmen, Stockholm. The hotel was already owned by Pandox.

AHS grows in Vietnam: Absolute Hotel Services added the Eastin Easy Nha Trang in Vietnam. The 180-room hotel is expected to open in 2017.

 


Battistotti dies in motorcycle accident: Marco Battistotti was killed in a motorcycle accident near Alor Gajah, Malaysia. Battistotti was vice president of operations at Ri-yaz Hotel and Resort in Kuala Lumpur.
