Jim Jiang expanding in China:  Jin Jiang International Hotel Management Co. announced that it has partnered with Jiangsu Bright Investment Co. to open the 231-room Mingcheng Jin Jiang Hotel in Yancheng City.

Interstate, Waramaug JV buys Florida resort:  Interstate Hotels & Resorts, Waramaug Hospitality LLC and a private investment group announced the acquisition via joint venture of the 718-room Radisson Resort Orlando – Celebration, located in Kissimmee, Florida. The property, managed by Interstate under a long-term agreement, will undergo a US$9 million renovation. Hotel renovations will consist of upgrades and enhancements to all 718 guestrooms, public areas, meeting space and mechanical systems.

NYC’s Sony Building may be converted to hotel:  After leading a consortium that bought the 37-story Sony Building, located in New York City, for US$1.1 billion last week, Joseph Chetrit said the property may be converted into a hotel.

LNR Partners buys Wisconsin hotel:  LNR Partners bought the 390-room Radisson Paper Valley Hotel out of court-ordered receivership for US$17.8 million.
