Hilton: Hilton signed a management agreement with KDU Adventures (Pvt) Ltd, a subsidiary of KDU Group (Pvt) Ltd, to manage the 140-room DoubleTree by Hilton Weerawila, scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2018 in Tissamaharama, Sri Lanka. It’s the seventh hotel in Hilton’s pipeline in that country.
Auberge Resorts: Auberge Resorts Collection will manage Bishop’s Lodge in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The 300-acre resort is undergoing a US$75 million renovation that will give it 92 guestrooms, three tents and 12 residences.

Rosewood: Rosewood Hotels & Resorts announced “More Rosewood,” a program of complimentary nights at 17 hotels. It’s available through the end of the year for select dates.
AH&LA: The American Hotel and Lodging Association and more than 300 travel businesses, association, and destination marketing organizations sent letters to U.S. House and Senate committees highlighting the role of Brand USA, the country’s marketing arm, in promoting the U.S. as a travel destination. The letter opposed the provision in President Donald Trump’s proposed 2018 budget eliminating funding for the group and underlined the economic impact of inbound tourism.
Arrive Hotels: Arrive Hotels & Restaurants is opening a second location in Austin, Texas. The 83-room hotel is expected to open in early 2019. The co-developer of the site, which includes a 100-year-old warehouse, is Alexa Management.
Extended Stay America: Charlotte, North Carolina-based Extended Stay America announced a franchising program for the mid-scale brand. It has set a goal of 700 properties by 2021, with about 30% franchised. The company currently has more than 630 hotels.
