New World Hotels & Resorts aims to expand footprint in Asia

New World Hotels & Resorts, the upper-upscale brand under Rosewood Hotel Group, is expanding its presence in Asia. The brand aims to reach 18 operating hotels by the end of the year, with two additional hotels expected to open in 2024.

The brand’s ambitious plans reflect its confidence in the market and its strategy of establishing a presence in popular gateway and getaway locations across Asia. Currently, New World manages 15 properties across China, the Philippines, Malaysia and Vietnam.

“We are thrilled to be entering this immensely exciting phase as our commitment to New World Hotels & Resorts and dedication to Asian hospitality begins to yield remarkable results,” said Hoss Vetry, vice president of operations, Asia Pacific of Rosewood Hotel Group. “With our plans coming to fruition, our passion to expand over a diverse range of offerings and create meaningful experiences for our guests has never been stronger.”

GROWTH IN CHINA

China has seen a remarkable rise in domestic tourism and a demand for new experiences in the past few years. Encouraged by this growth in tourism, New World opened New World Shijiazhuang Hutuo Resort in June. Three more hotels will open in Chongqing, Taishan and Guangzhou by fall.

In a strategic move to upgrade the brand’s portfolio and activities in China, Rosewood transitioned and rebranded all KHOS hotels to New World this June, which saw the addition of New World Qingyuan Hotel, New World Langfang Hotel and New World Shenyang Hotel to its collection.

In 2021, New World entered into a joint venture with Rezen Group, a subsidiary of Trip.com Group, to develop and operate all recently opened New World properties in Mainland China. Known as New World Tongpai Hotels Group, the joint venture has a three-year aim of developing 10 New World Hotels & Resorts in Mainland China, focusing on promoting advanced digital transformation in all the properties.

So far, the new venture has opened one hotel, with seven more currently under development. In Vietnam, New World commenced operations of New World Hoiana Beach Resort this April.

VIETNAM & JAPAN

In Vietnam, New World Hoiana Beach Resort began operations this April. Adding its fifth property in Vietnam, New World will open the New World Nha Trang Hotel in 2024, further strengthening its presence in the country.

New World is set to launch in Japan with the opening of New World La Plume Niseko Resort next year.

These upcoming launches in both countries are part of the brand’s initiatives to expand its footprint in Asia.
