Montage Big Sky has announced the appointment of Christian Maeder as general manager, overseeing all aspects of operations across the resort. With more than 25 years of experience in luxury hospitality, Maeder steps into this new role after serving as the resort’s hotel manager since 2023.
“Christian’s proven leadership at Montage Big Sky and across the Montage portfolio makes him exceptionally well-suited to step into the role of general manager,” said Jason Herthel, president and chief operating officer of Montage International. “With his thoughtful approach to leadership and dedication to heartfelt service, Christian will continue to cultivate the warm, welcoming atmosphere that distinguishes Montage Big Sky.”
Previous to Montage Big Sky, Maeder served as hotel manager at Montage Laguna Beach and held senior leadership roles at The Maybourne Beverly Hills, Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore Santa Barbara, The Setai Miami Beach and Four Seasons Hotel New York. His career also includes experience at Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas, Claridge’s in London and The Peninsula New York.
Montage Big Sky is located within Montana’s Big Sky’s 3,530-acre Spanish Peaks enclave, featuring 100 guestrooms and suites and 39 privately owned residences.
