Meliá debuts its first hotel in The Maldives

Meliá Hotels International has arrived in the Maldives with the opening of Meliá Whale Lagoon Maldives, marking a new milestone in the company’s global expansion.

Opened in January, the property operates under the Meliá Hotels & Resorts brand and is located in the island chain of South Ari Atoll. Access includes a 30-minute seaplane transfer from Malé International Airport.

The property is positioned near the South Ari Marine Protected Area, an area known for year-round sightings of whale sharks and manta rays. Guests have access to activities such as snorkelling, diving, paddleboarding and kayaking.

Meliá Whale Lagoon Maldives features 100 private oceanfront villas, Water Villas above the ocean, Sunset Suite Villas with private pools and Beach Villas located directly on the shoreline.
