The 179-room Aloft Philadelphia Downtown is open and catering to coffee drinkers who just can’t wait.

In addition to make-your-own cappuccinos, the new hotel, which is attached to the Pennsylvania Convention Center, has a grab-and-go marketplace which provides light meals and health-conscious offerings.

HRI Properties, in partnership with Realen Properties, oversaw the redevelopment of the hotel’s property, a historic 1929 building which had been vacant for two decades.

The grand lobby has 27-foot coffered ceilings lined with banking seals, 23-foot arched windows, marble floors and an original clock.

Architecture came from Blackney Hayes Architects and Powers & Company, with interior design from Stonehill & Taylor.
The hotel’s bar, the W XYZ, will have live music with local Philadelphia musicians as part of the Live at Aloft Hotel series.
