Magnuson, Jin Jiang, Louvre alliance goes live

A marketing alliance representing 8,000 hotels and 800,000 guest rooms went live on Thursday as Magnuson Hotels, Spokane, Washington, as well as Shanghai’s Jin Jiang Hotels and Jin Jiang-owned Louvre Hotels Group, Nanterre, France, have team up to offer rooms across 50 countries via magnusonhotels.com.

Hotels participating in the alliance include franchisees of Louvre Hotels Group, affiliates of Magnuson Hotels, and company-owned Jin Jiang Hotels. Hotels affiliated with Magnuson and Louvre Hotels will also gain access to Jin Jiang Hotels’ 100 million-member rewards club.

Thomas Magnuson, chief executive of Magnuson Hotels, told HOTELS it’s too soon to tell how much business the alliance will bring. “However, we are hopeful that when the plan is fully globalized with one unified rewards program we would see a 12-month increase of approximately US$700 million in revenue. This is based upon a conservative 3% global occupancy contribution at a US$80 average daily rate for the alliance.”
