LONDON Malmaison, the 12-property boutique hotel brand controlled by MWB Group Holding PLC, has signed a strategic partnership with Rome-based Magellan Hospitality Management to help grow the brand in continental Europe.
Magellan will assist Malmaison with identifying opportunities to develop new hotels in major Europe gateways, starting with Rome, Venice, Paris, Amsterdam and Barcelona. The effort will be headed by Magellan Managing Director Moreno Occhiolini, previously chief operating officer for The Rocco Forte Collection.
The partnership will pursue projects in both leisure and business travel destinations. Other cities targeted for expansion include Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Zürich, Hamburg and Monaco. New Malmaison properties will have between 100 and 150 guestrooms and will be owned, leased or managed.
The Malmaison brand caters to a younger clientele and strives to offer excellent value. Its F&B concepts tend to be informal and lean heavily on local traditions.
