London’s Claridge’s taps new hotel manager

Maybourne has appointed Jochem Meijerink as hotel manager of the historic Claridge’s in London.

Following a ten-year position at Corinthia London, where he began as front office manager in 2015 and progressed to hotel manager until his departure in 2025, Meijerink brings a wealth of experience in luxury hotel operations to his new role.

“It is a great honour to welcome friend and long-standing colleague Jochem into the Claridge’s family. After working closely together at Corinthia London, I am excited to see what this new chapter holds for him at Claridge’s as we continue to grow and offer our guests the highest service standards possible,” said Thomas Kochs, managing director of Claridge’s.

Meijerink relocated to London in 2008 as an international hospitality management graduate, leaving his home country, the Netherlands, to kickstart his career in the industry.

“I am delighted to be joining Claridge’s at such a pivotal and exciting time, with so many new developments in the pipeline. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and indeed a huge privilege to be working at such an iconic and prestigious hotel. I very much look forward to this next step,” said Meijerink.

Claridge’s has recently undertaken a seven-year programme of restoration and redevelopment. Key additions include a new spa with swimming pool and an art gallery and café, as well as three additional floors that house 72 new suites and rooms topped by the penthouse, which spans the entire rooftop of the hotel, complete with its own swimming pool and ornamental lake.

Maybourne operates some of London’s most renowned hotels, including The Connaught, The Berkeley and The Emory.
