Loews Lake Las Vegas rebrands as Westin

The 493-room Loews Lake Las Vegas, located in Henderson, Nevada, rebranded on Thursday as Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa. The property will continue to be managed by Pyramid Hotel Group, Boston.

The move comes after foreclosure proceedings on the property began in December, although it has not been officially foreclosed on yet. The property’s US$117 million mortgage went into default in 2009 and Wells Fargo took over the property in 2010.

Pyramid is also managing Westin Casuarina Las Vegas Hotel, Casino & Spa, which was recently taken over by lenders after its owner Columbia Sussex Corp., Crestview Hills, Kentucky, after it defaulted on the property’s US$160 million mortgage.
