L’Auberge de Sedona unveils $30M expansion

L’Auberge de Sedona has completed a $30 million property-wide expansion and transformation that introduces new accommodations, event spaces, dining and wellness experiences while maintaining its connection to Sedona’s natural landscape. The resort, owned by DiamondRock Hospitality Company and managed by Aimbridge Hospitality, adds 70 guestrooms through the debut of The Cliffs, a new category created from the enhancement of the former Orchards Inn.

“The introduction of The Cliffs marks an exciting milestone in the evolution of L’Auberge de Sedona, enhancing the experiences we offer while staying true to the character that makes this resort so special,” said Colm O’Brien, regional managing director. “Whether travelers are visiting for adventure, relaxation, or a deeper connection to our destination, every element of this transformation is designed to enhance their journey. Each accommodation at our resort offers a distinct experience – whether it’s an intimate Creekside Cottage, or the all-new elevated perspective of The Cliffs with Red Rock views, every L’Auberge de Sedona guest is invited to immerse themselves in the natural beauty, serenity and spirit of Sedona from a fresh new vantage point.”

The Cliffs introduces rooms with modern design, Southwest-inspired colors, spa-style bathrooms, and private balconies or patios overlooking Sedona’s Red Rock mountains. With this addition, the resort’s accommodations now total 158, joining The Lodge, Creekside, Vista, Garden and Spa Cottages, and the Creekhouse.

The property’s transformation extends beyond accommodations. A new pool called Duck Pond Pool features a heated pool, hot tub, and private cabanas situated among Sedona’s cliffs with unobstructed views. The signature restaurant Cress on Oak Creek has been redesigned with expanded outdoor seating and a refreshed menu focused on seasonal and local ingredients. Uptown Sedona’s 89Agave Cantina now provides an in-room dining program for resort guests, offering Mexican dishes and cocktails made from over 100 tequilas.

The L’Apothecary Spa has been expanded into a full-service wellness center. New features include water therapies such as floating sound healing, a spa pool with yoga sessions, and a new mud wrap treatment. The outdoor relaxation garden and element-driven therapies build on the spa’s tradition of blending local practices with Sedona’s natural surroundings.

Event spaces also gained new options. The Vista Overlook terrace was added to host weddings and special events with direct Red Rock views. Existing guest rooms throughout the property have been refreshed with new furnishings, artwork, lighting, and layouts designed to maximize views of the surrounding landscape.

“Sedona remains one of the most sought-after destinations in the country, and our continued investment in L’Auberge de Sedona reflects our confidence in its lasting appeal,” said Shawn Smith, senior vice president asset management, DiamondRock Hospitality Co. “The Cliffs is a strong addition to further elevate the guest experience while also staying true to the natural beauty and character that makes this destination so special. By integrating these two properties, we are reinforcing L’Auberge de Sedona as a leader in refined hospitality, offering travelers a one-of-a-kind retreat in the heart of the Red Rock region.”

“To usher in the next era of this resort, our approach was to create visual experiences that feel like a natural extension of Sedona itself,” said Mike Dalezman, principal architect. “From the new guest rooms at The Cliffs, to the new event spaces and pool deck, every element was carefully considered to blend into the contours of the land, embrace the natural color palette, and frame the iconic Red Rock that guests travel from around the world to see.”

The reimagined property is now part of Small Luxury Hotels of the World and is available for booking through Hilton.com and the Hilton Honors app. To celebrate the reopening, the resort introduced a Bubbles & Bliss package that includes champagne, custom chocolates, and nightly valet parking.
