La Quinta Inns & Suites now holds a new Guinness World Record for 850 human mattress dominoes.
Breaking a previous record of 550 established in Belgium last year, it happened in New Orleans at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center when 850 La Quinta GMs, owners, employees, executives and guests manned a mattress, each representing the number of La Quinta hotels in the country. The first person fell back on their mattress, toppling onto the next. It continued until the last human and mattress combo, number 850, finally fell and shattered the world record. A Guinness World Records adjudicator was on-site to verify the attempt’s success and present the Guinness World Records certificate.

Following the event, La Quinta Inns & Suites and Simmons Bedding Company donated the 850 wrapped mattresses used to create the new world record to the Mayor’s Homeless Initiatives and local charities.
