Wisconsin-based Kohler Hospitality (they of kitchen and bath product fame) has made further moves in the state with an updated Kohler Lodge concept in Green Bay.

The 144-room hotel acts as an anchor to the Titletown District, the Green Bay Packers’ mixed-use commercial and recreational development located adjacent to the stadium. The hotel, which operates in partnership with the Packers, will host Packers football fans as well as business executives gathering for meetings at the neighboring Lambeau Field.
The collaboration between Kohler and the Packers started with a conversation some three years ago, according to Kohler’s group director of lodging, Christine Loose.

“The Green Bay Packers are one of the most, if not the most iconic football team with a wonderful history,” Loose said. “It just felt like the right place when you add all those synergies between our organizations.”
The lodge will have five types of guest rooms, including “tailgating” suites within eyeshot of the field. Rates start at US$195 during the week and jump to US$463 on game days.

The hotel is already sold out for the first half of the season, indicating a good turnout from fans looking for game day lodging. And as to how the hotel will fare during the off season? Loose said the hotel will rely on foot traffic from business travelers as well as Packers fans touring the area.
Kohler has also used the lodge to debut several new business traveler-friendly room standards, including the addition of USB ports in the desks and nightstands, custom oversized luggage bench and an oversized desk encouraging travelers who may want to use the space as an office. Bathrooms have also been updated with new lighting, and a new mirror and shower.

The property also has a bar and restaurant, Taverne in the Sky, positioned on the 5th floor for optimal game viewing. And of course, being Kohler, a spa, complete with hydromassage pool and a custom shower massage.

Loose said Kohler is “absolutely” open to looking outside of Wisconsin for new property opportunities (the company already has a property in Scotland), but couldn’t comment as to immediate plans for additional Lodge Kohlers.
“When the right opportunity presents itself, we’ll move forward,” she said.
