Indian hotel group ITC has signed a deal with Starwood Hotels & Resorts to run three of its new hotels under The Luxury Collection. The deal extends the relationship between the two companies to 15 hotels (11 other Luxury Collection properties and one Sheraton).
The addition of the ITC Kohinoor in Hyderabad, ITC Narmada in Ahmedabad and ITC Royal Bengal in Kolkata will take place as the properties open over the next four years.
“The association with Starwood Hotels & Resorts for close to four decades bears testimony to ITC’s commitment to create world-class Indian brands that demonstrate global competitiveness, and we are pleased to further strengthen our alliance with three upcoming ITC luxury hotels in Kolkata, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad, which will be an archetype of the culture and region they are located in,” said ITC Executive Director Nakul Anand.
Thomas Mangas, chief executive officer, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, added, “Starwood is experiencing strong growth momentum in India with signings of new hotels in the past 12 months representing nearly 30% of our current operating footprint in the country.”
The partnership between the two companies began in 1979 with the Sheraton brand and grew in 2007 with the addition of The Luxury Collection in India.
