Garner Hotels becomes IHG’s fastest-growing brand

IHG Hotels & Resorts announced that Garner Hotels has reached the 100 open hotels worldwide milestone since its August 2023 launch, becoming “IHG’s fastest ever brand to scale globally”, according to the company.

The brand currently has a pipeline of almost 80 hotels and open or pipeline properties in 12 countries, including the U.S., Mexico, Italy and Japan. The growth aligns with demand for conversion properties, which accounted for 52% of all IHG room openings in 2025. Garner’s expansion has been supported by a flexible development model, competitive cost-per-key ratios, reduced pre-opening costs and faster turnaround times, with some conversions completed in just over a month between signing and opening.

“Garner’s initial global success reflects IHG’s proven expertise in building and scaling conversion-ready brands that owners and guests trust,” said Karen Gilbride, global vice president for Garner Hotels, IHG Hotels & Resorts. “Beyond offering a high-quality alternative for value-conscious travelers, Garner’s flexible development model allows the brand to more quickly enter new global markets and deliver returns for owners. Even as we’ve reached some amazing initial milestones, we’re just starting to tap into Garner’s full growth potential and look forward to introducing its unique offering to more owners and travelers in the years ahead.”

In the Americas, Garner recorded 32 signings and 23 openings in 2025, including the first property in Mexico, Garner Hotel Mazatlán Beach, along with new locations in Butte Mont, and near Arizona’s Lake Powell. In Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa, the brand opened 43 hotels in 2025, largely driven by a 2024 agreement with NOVUM Hospitality covering 56 open and pipeline properties in Germany.

Further openings in 2025 included the first Garner hotels in Italy, Türkiye and the U.K., along with a debut in Japan and Southeast Asia.
