Vignette Collection, one of the newest luxury & lifestyle brands launched by IHG Hotels & Resorts, has entered the U.K. with the opening of The Halyard Liverpool. The hotel is the first of the 12 properties globally to join Vignette Collection’s growing portfolio.
The brand is preparing to open more properties this year, including Shanghai Snow World Hotel (opening in an alpine-themed indoor ski park), Verno House (a 50-room urban oasis overlooking Liberty Square in Budapest) and Arabella Beach Hotel in Kuwait (situated between desert dunes and the Arabian Gulf shoreline).
The brand is progressing towards its plan of opening 100 new Vignette Collection properties in the next 10 years, said Tom Rowntree, vice president of luxury & lifestyle brands at IHG Hotels & Resorts.
“From indoor skiing in Shanghai to soaking up the cool culture in Liverpool, 2024 will see an exciting array of unique hotels and resorts joining Vignette Collection,” he added.
Vignette Collection consists of a curated selection of hotels, ranging from boutique townhouses in city centers to beachfront resorts. Unveiled in August 2021, Vignette Collection opened its first hotel – Hotel X Brisbane Fortitude Valley – in the same year in December. At present, the brand boasts a collection of 11 open hotels worldwide, with 23 more in its pipeline.
As part of IHG’s ambitious Journey to Tomorrow plan to drive positive change, each Vignette Collection hotel has its own “A Means For Good.” The hallmark sees properties partner with a local non-profit organization to lead positive contributions to the communities in which it operates. Memorable Rituals, another brand hallmark, helps connect guests with the hotel’s cultural landscape through meaningful travel encounters.
JUST OPENED
- The Halyard Liverpool, Vignette Collection – The 133-room hotel on Duke Street in the Ropewalks district marks the brand’s entry into the U.K. The hotel is housed in a building which functioned as rope-making warehouses in the 18th century.
- Dinso Resort & Villas Phuket, Vignette Collection – Located in Phuket, Thailand, the hotel features 26 hilltop duplex villas and 148 rooms and suites, each with private pools.
OPENING SOON
- Arabella Beach Hotel, Vignette Collection – Located between desert dunes and the Arabian Gulf shoreline in Kuwait City, Kuwait, the hotel will offer 195 rooms and suites. The interiors feature a contemporary take on traditional Sadu weaves with tactile textures. The hotel will open this spring.
- Velero Doha, Vignette Collection – Situated in the Lusail district of Doha in Qatar, the hotel features several dining options, a spa, hair salon, fitness and wellness center, an infinity pool and two ballrooms. Opening slated for spring.
- Verno House, Vignette Collection – Overlooking the Liberty Square in Budapest, the 50-key hotel includes a restaurant, library room which can be used as meeting space, gym and wellness area. Opening scheduled this summer.
- Shanghai Snow World Hotel, Vignette Collection – Situated within Yaoxue Snow World Complex, the indoor snow and ice venue, the hotel will comprise 272 rooms and 17 suites with direct access to the ski slopes. Located about 30 kilometers from Shanghai Disney and Pudong Airport, the snow complex will have three main ski runs and a winter-themed snow park. The hotel is expected to open in autumn.
- Rumah Luwih Bali, Vignette Collection – Offering ocean views of Mount Agung, the hotel will convert to Vignette Collection later this year. The heritage hotel includes 75 rooms and suites with views of rice paddies. Opening scheduled this October.
- Dinso Resort & Villas Koh Chang, Vignette Collection – The former Emerald Resort Koh Chang will undergo extensive renovations and rebranding to reopen as Dinso Resort & Villas Koh Chang, Vignette Collection in December. The resort has three restaurants and bars, a pool, spa and fitness facilities. The resort joins Dinso Resort & Villas Phuket and Sindhorn Midtown Hotel Bangkok to represent a trio of Thai properties within IHG’s first collection brand.
Vignette Collection is also preparing to add four hotels in China this year – Heibei Grand Hotel, Hangzhou Huaxia Center Hotel, The Xanadu Guangzhou and WM Hotel.
