Following its US$100 million purchase and renovation of the property, Iberostar Hotels & Resorts has opened Iberostar Cancun.
The renovation included refurbishment of the main lobby and the lobby bar as well as construction of new terraces at the resort’s seven swimming pools. A new grand buffet has debuted in addition to four new restaurants. A new theater was built as well as clubs for kids and teenagers.
Iberostar Cancun, located just 15 minutes from Cancun Airport, features 426 guestrooms and villas including 16 junior suites, four master suites, a presidential suite and two beach suite villas. A football field, two tennis courts, a spa, a gym and a beauty salon are among other amenities.
The resort also offers a 50,000-sq-ft (4,645-sq-m) convention center with a versatile layout that can be divided into 22 meeting rooms and 90,000 sq ft (8,361 sq m) available for outdoor events. Plus, it is home to an 18-hole golf course offering views of the Caribbean Sea.
