Hilton Worldwide and Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts opened the Waldorf Astoria Beijing late last month.
The property is the second Waldorf Astoria in China. It is operated by Hilton Worldwide and owned by China Oil & Foodstuffs Corp.
The 176-key hotel is located on the former site of Xianliang Temple, which was the residence of the first Chinese guest at the Waldorf Astoria in New York.

Yabu Pushelberg created the interiors, which blend local traditions and modern design elements. The guestrooms include 38 suites in the main, bronze-clad tower, as well as guest accommodations in the Waldorf Hutong Villas. The Hutong Villas have a more traditional design drawn from China’s imperial history; one room occupies two villas with private entrances in a garden courtyard.
Peacock Alley serves tea, cocktails and light fare. Brasserie 1893 features a show kitchen, while Zijin Mansion offers Cantonese and Beijing specialties. Private dining is available.
Additional amenities at Waldorf Astoria Beijing include a spa and fitness center with heated indoor pool and 8,568 sq ft (796 sq m) of meeting and event space.
