November 11 saw the grand opening of the 1,001-room Omni Dallas Hotel, connected by a skybridge to the Dallas Convention Center. To help celebrate the opening, Larry Hagman and Linda Gray of the memorable hit television show “Dallas” were on-hand to cut the ribbon.
The huge hotel features more than 110,000 sq ft (10,219 sq m) of meeting and event space and more than 7,000 original pieces of art from 150 local artists throughout the hotel. The hotel can accommodate groups of more than 3,300 attendees.
Dining and leisure options include Bob’s Steak & Chop House, Texas Spice, the Owner’s Box sports bar, Uptown Terrace and Mokara Spa.
