Hot Openings: Paris welcomes ‘groovy’ hotel

The Idol Hotel recently opened in Paris, offering guests a music-themed experience that strives to be nothing short of “groovy.” Renovated by Elegancia Hotels and AD-Tango, the 32-room boutique hotel was decorated by Julie Gauthron, who is known for her funky designs.

The “musical” lobby features piles of vinyl records and sculptural lights made of gold-coated brass. The lounge area offers breakfast, and the hotel features a small patio that serves breakfast when weather permits.

Guestrooms and suites are decorated with bright wallpapers and Corian furniture. Complimentary WiFi is available to guests, along with flatscreen televisions, Bluetooth sound systems and Nespresso machines.

Parisian record shop owner François Mazza and the hotel’s owner, Yann Gasparini, picked a selection of records for the Idol Hotel. Additionally, guests and locals will have the opportunity to attend musical events held at the hotel.
