Dorsett Hospitality International has debuted a 319-key property in suburban Kuala Lumpur.
Silka Cheras, designed by Dorsett Senior Vice President of Interior Design Wendy Chiu, puts a modern update on a traditional Asian aesthetic. A few typically Eastern elements like round motifs, screens and gilding are retained, but for the most part, the style revolves around rich yet delicate colors and unusual, streamlined shapes. Glittering blue panels add panache to the reception. Light plum accent walls give the guestrooms a sense of dramatic impact. Multicolored glass pieces form a semi-transparent divider in the lobby seated area. Their round, unexpected forms are echoed in the guestrooms’ curvy desk seating and the circular pattern in the artwork.

The hotel has four room types: Superior, Silka Room and Studio, as well as the open-plan Silka Suite. It also offers all-day dining. The 220-person function space can be divided into two smaller areas.
The hotel is located next to Cheras Sentral, the city’s newest shopping mall.
