Kempinski Hotels opened Hotel Nikol’skaya Kempinski Moscow this month after six years of restoration.
The 211-room property was formerly the residence of Count Orlov-Davydov and features renovations by Leo International Design Group. The lobby was designed in the style of an old-world ocean liner and includes palatial chandeliers, an upper deck, curved staircases, art deco furniture, and a multi-colored stained glass dome.

Deluxe and Superior rooms are decorated in pale brown and muted beige with a contemporary design that includes a flat-screen interactive TV and a smart control panel. Studio-style Junior Suites offer city and courtyard views. Executive Suites include a bedroom and a living room. The Orlov Suite offers views of Lubyanka Square and is decorated in Belle Epoque style. The property’s two Presidential Suites are decorated in gold, white and beige with panoramic views of Lubyanka Square.
The property is also home to a number of restaurants and bars: MosaiK, an open- kitchen restaurant serving traditional Russian cuisine; the Italian bistro A Tavola; Orlov Lobby Lounge and Bar, a casual venue that offers chocolate fountains, fresh cakes, and tea; Robusto Cigar Club, a contemporary after-dinner club; The Parisien Café Vendome; and Latin Mojito Lounge, a cocktail bar with panoramic views of downtown Moscow.
The hotel’s conference facilities can accommodate up to 180 people and has a 2,152-sq-ft (200-sq-m) grand ballroom. Additional amenities include a spa, swimming pool, and a fitness center.
